Sify Broadband Internet Connection Reviews

Bad for sure - worst? I do not know...
Jun 20, 2008 05:33 PM

There is the maxim - Good so long as it lasts. I think this is almost tailor-made for Sify Broadband.

I use a 256kbps plan and it is very good so long as the connection exists and once it fails with the very infamous BB101 and BB108 errors, then you are now on the receiving end of Sify's errors.

At one time, when I had the Gateway not reachable error, I used to call their customer care and enter my mobile number on their cue and understood pretty soon that it takes them not less than 24hours to call back to "enquire" as to what the problem was. I found that not entering the numbering finally gives me a human being at the end of the telephone line. This helped a lot - atleast you save 24 hours:-)

The ides of May was the best part - the LAN was shown as disconnected and when I complained, I was told that someone has stolen the switch and that Sify could not do much ASAP. Fair enough - I gave this 5 days but nothing happened. When I called up customer don't care again, I insisted on having a complaint number. After 2 days they happily closed the ticked saying the issue is resolved although nothing had happened. I then mailed Sify's Appellette and got a call from Chennai saying that this would be resolved by EOD. I though wow. this really works but. after 7 days also I could see nothing being done. I then wrote to their Nodal officer again to the same effect.

I was sick and tired, since I am used to working from home and was presently unable to do so.

I wrote to the Times of India and lo and behold. I see a Sify Technician at my doorstep the same evening and the equipment replaced.

But, as I mentioned earlier, the speed is good so long as Sify works. In addition I never had a problem with their online payment gateway and other renewal services.

Almost missed this - I now have a contingency plan - a Reliance data card:-)

Bangalore India
Sify Fraudband- India’s Unreliable Internet
May 22, 2008 03:53 PM

If you planning to get new broadband connection, steer clear of Sify Broadband.

While their tariff plans may sound very attractive compared to other ISPs, their business model is purely based on cheating customers & unreliable service. The network keeps on going down every now and then & the customer care number “mysteriously” stops responding during such occasions.

Also, the tariff plans are not what they seem to be. Sify does seem to offer some ‘Night Unlimited Plans’ that should allow unlimited downloads from10 PM to 8 AM. However, you will be amazed to discover your plan abruptly expiring earlier than its stipulated duration. When asked, Sify customer care will give you stupid reasons, never accepting that this is a problem with their billing system!

*My personal saga with Sify Broadband

*My Sify plan- 400 MB with Night Unlimited unexpectedly expired after just 15 days, despite the fact that I always downloaded after 10 PM. When I contacted Sify Customer Care, I was told to write to customercare@sify.com.

They kept on sending me automated replies, giving me details of my plan, without even bothering to read my mail! After I sent them a strong mail demanding an explanation, an executive from Sify called me & told me that I had logged in at 9:59:40 PM instead of 10 PM(20 seconds earlier!). Therefore, the entire session was considered as “before 10 PM” session & deducted from my 400 MB limit!

After hearing his “irrational” explanation, I asked him if the opposite of this situation would also hold true. If I connect, let’s say at 10:30 PM & do not log out till 11 AM the next day, would that entire session be considered as “10 PM to 8 AM” session, allowing me to make unlimited downloads till I have logged out. He categorically replied “No” & told me that MBs will start getting deducted from my account as soon as I cross 8 AM in the morning.

So why does the same rule not apply at night? As soon as person crosses 10 PM(which was 20 seconds away in my case), MBs should stop getting deducted from the account.

To summarize, Sify Broadband can go to any extent in trying to make extra money, even if it means indulging in unethical billing & making a fool of their customers. One thing still remains to be seen, how long can such devious business practices continue! Probably, till the time when monopoly of such ISPs in specific areas ends & people have better choices.

Your comments & experiences are welcome!

SECUNDERABAD India
Pathetic service of sify broadband
Mar 29, 2008 06:28 PM

I have a Sify Broadband connection since last year. My user id is "bsai" and residing in secunderabad. It has several interruptions throughout the period and every month you have to face 4 to 7 days of disconnection of service due to one or several reasons. Recently, it had developed a BB108 error on 7th march 2008 onwards. On 11/03/08 at night 9.30pm, the local operator came and made some temporary joint and it hardly lasted upto 12/03/08 morning. On 12/03/08 once again, I made a complaint but the connection has not been restored so far. If you ask customer care, they will say that the problem is escalated to higher official and it is going to be rectified very soon/today itself, but not done so far and they made an entry into their records as "the problem is in the local power supply and the same is rectified".

Actually, a hub is required to restore the connection. So far, I have spent 100/- for making phone calls only but of no use. I am so much disappointed with their attitude. If you insist on your complaint status, they will say that local operator is not co-operating with me and when I asked for the refund, they advised me to take the cable or go and settle with local operator myself and Sify is not responsible.

I never come accross such a irresponsible attitude from a private organisation. Even BSNL is in providing better service but they have a exchange capacity problem in my area.

I advise all of you  and especially secunderabad locals not to opt for Sify Broadband otherwise you will be dissappointed with their attitude, service and charges(256kbps with 1GB data transfer costs 567/-+50/- per month).

Sify Broadband sucks
Mar 05, 2008 05:56 PM

I applied for a Sify Broadband connection on 24/02/08 through one of their Sales agents named Amit in Pune. He promised me that the cabling would be done by 27/02/08. But there was no sign of any cable until 04/03/08. That too after repeated calls to Amit.

The reason was that there was some issue with it. Meanwhile, I had paid by check and the checks were encashed on 27/02/08.  After getting the cable in my house, I am still waiting for the username and password. After repeated calls to Sify customer service and Amit, I haven't received any reponse. I am just being switched from one person to the other and nobody gives me a satisfactory answer.

Any help from fellow members would be highly appreciated. Is there an authority to whom I can formally complain about the issue.

Thanks,

Sify Broadband Worst ISP
Feb 26, 2008 06:43 PM

Sify Broad-Band:( I call it Sify Broad-Banned!

Thy name makes me shiver! One of the worst internet services I have come across. Never ever in the last 1 yr I was confident that I will be able to connect to internet when I need it, thanks to sify. They charge a high non refundable amount of rupees 2000 when you get a new internet connection.

Here are the key factors that make sify the worst ISP:

  1. Quality of Service: Never available, I did not have any connectivity for at least 3 months in last 5 months.

  2. Customer Care: Sucks Big Time

  3. Installation/Maintenance Charges: High, 2000 Non refundable. That is the only reason I kept this connection or I could have got rid of this crap in the first month itself.

MY ADVICE: Don’t subscribe to sify if you have “heart problems”. They will make you so angry that you will die of heart attack!

Bangalore India
The Great indian Cheater
Feb 13, 2008 05:49 PM

I awarded this title of dishonor to SIFY for their disgusting cooperation the unreliable service provided by them in Bangalore. This happened last year and I still feel the anger in me when I remember this saga of SIFY's negligence.

I stay in an  area where there were few ISP's including SIFY(Now there are more).I needed an internet connection very urgently and due to limited choice , I went for SIFY.

My days of  agony had started .Right from the very first day, the frequent problem of uexpected and uninformed server breakdown started. When contacted the local operators were prompt to reply that this was due to the maintainence work being done. The duration of the breakdown used to be for several long hours and sometimes even a full day.

I shifted my residence to a different house within the same locality keeping in mind that  they can shift the connection anywhere within the same locality  with the availabilty of their service in that area/locality.

The Horror started henceforth. With repeated number of calls to the local operator, customer service, personal visits to the local cable operators office and putting request in the office...Nothing really  happened. They just ignored my reapeated number of request to shift the connection in the adjacent lane.

I was enraged and threatened the local operator to drag this matter to consumer court and they were least bothered about what they did!

Finally  I put a complaint to the customer service and to my surprise they shocked me by saying that SIFY is not linked with the local operator and they just provide the service and are not responsible for providing /shifiting connections!! Its the local operator who is responsible for the connections and not SIFY!!

It's been a year and and I still agonize on my loss caused by SIFY and I am still waiting for a reply from the MD of SIFY for issue. Its ironic , that even he's ignoring the matter...but im still keeping up the fight for justice..!

I request the readers to think  and consider other options before taking up a SIFY Broadband connection.

So far so find
Jan 18, 2008 11:22 PM

I have been using Sify Broadband for the past 2 years and I have nearly no complaints. This connection in my locality(Behind IIM Bangalore) is provided directly by Sify and hence no 3rd party or cable operators. May be because of that the connect reliability and speed has been pretty good. I have taken the 256 Kbps night unlimited range.

So far I have been getting around 200 Kbps on average and renewing my account online. Whenever I face trouble I call up the Sify call center and the try to fix stuff by the next day.

After seeing the whole lot of comments here in this forum, I think I'm one among the luckiest(touch wood / touch hood).

I once had serious trouble with their online billing though, that is one thing that sucked majorly but thankfully it got resolved. The online chat facility is really bad and those guys(esp at night) are nearly sleepy and hardly pay any attention to what you are telling them. But the call center number(if you are lucky to get through) seem more responsive

Banfgalore India
Absolutely useless.. Dont go for it...
Dec 29, 2007 11:47 AM

To breifly explain the service quality, this ISP has'n' number of variables for not providing reliable service. Some of them are below:

  1. If your area /house doesnt have power you will not have connection.

  2. If the power in sify hub area is down, then you will not have connection.

  3. Due some poor quality cable they lay, if it terminates(which often happens) then u will not have connection.

  4. Due to rainy conditions, addressing the faults is too poor.

On an average in a week you will not have service atleast 3 full days due to some faults and in rest of the four days you will have one of the above problem which stops the service, for that customer care says  they dont have control.

But for renewal and payment collection, they will reach you any where and anytime you say:(.

Please avoid this guys.:(

Sify stands for SImply FaultY Service
Dec 28, 2007 02:17 AM

This is the third class service Internet Service Provider I've ever seen

There are hell lot of issues I've encountered ever since I became sify subscriber.

1) They cut the networking cable and use two wires to transfer full 240 volt current to hub. Incase these wires get merged with your network wire, be ready for electrick shock travelling to your mother board and destroying everything.

2) They don't have organized way of cabling. It is just take the cable wherever it is required

3) Sify will ask from one of the intermediate house or enterprise for electric connection for one hub. But they will end up consuming that one electric connection for plenty of hubs

4) These wires and hubs never work when it will rain. These wires and hubs are hanged on window so that they get water for harvesting.

5) Toll free number will never work from BSNL lines. It is only for MTNL line.

6) If you are calling late these representatives will safely disconnect you. You will feel something is wrong with your telephone.

7) Sify representative will never have any sympathy for your internet access problems. They will simplay say streotype answer "we will send our service engineer to your house"

8) When intermediate house will not have electricity even your internet will stop working.

9) People at intermediate location will switch off the hubs and you will never get uplink.

10)  Sify will never tell you what are the details of plan like, how much bandwith is allowed, what if I exceed the bandwith. what are the free timings. nothing will be told to you. You will be left to over-use and pay more.

11) They will reduce your days from month without telling you anything.

I've huge list of issues, I'll keep updating this page to let you decide if you would like to go for sify connection.

Third Class Experiene of Service of Sify Broadband
Dec 08, 2007 09:32 AM

I am SIFY broadband customer since May2004, My SIFY User ID is uis22haresh, in early year of service is Ok. Day by day its service gone to worsen condition. Earlier I submit complaint regarding not working of internet. It solved within 3 days by saying assurance it is will be solved in 24 hours.

After that on Friday 30th November 2007 I submitted complaint on SIFY Broadband Telephone no. 26177460. They given complaint No. 6144286, with assurance that complaint will be in 12 working hours.

But it not solved again complaint submitted on Saturday 1st December 2007, with same complaint No.6144286, again assurance given that complaint solved within 24 hours and technician visit the sight. But all prove to be false assurance. They told to submit your complaint on SIFY Service SMS no. 54545, same submitted on via SMS too, but all gone to deaf ears.

On Tuesday 4th December 2007, third time complaint submitted with complaint No. 6162747, again got only assurance nothing else.

On Wednesday 5th December 2007, Complaint submitted forth time with complaint no.6165155.

I wonder how multinational Company with world class goodwill providing service third class service to their consumers. If this is service gesture of SIFY corporation then why setup Customer care Dept. to show off in public.

I think they just open it to collect only payment collection. If someone make payment one day late the local cable operator and SIFY Crop stop their Internet Connection. But when it comes to their service this is whole story.

I have paid approx Rs.1500/-for SIFY Package called FK3M with Three months validity. Instead of advance payment SIFY crop is providing so worse service I ever seen in my life time of any multinational company.

After so much of telephonic and verbal communication I here submitting written complaint to higher authorities of SIFY Corporation and other concern authority for their deep attention on complaint & for refund of amount paid to them in advance on first week of November 2007, claim of loss which I have suffered in my business due their bad service and claim for damage to my PC hardware component due their problem in SIFY server.

I think all authorities of SIFY Broadband Corporation is on vacation or on sleeping. So I am thinking to submit complaint to consumer court. As here in SIFY no one solving problem and on one ready to take responsibility of their bad service due to my business is suffering a lot.

At end hopes may SIFY authorities wake up and solve my problem.

Good speed, but utterly unreliable
Dec 05, 2007 09:30 PM

I have been using Sify Broadband for almost one and a half years. A close friend had got a connection and he recommended that to me. A detailed review follows:

The Good:

Connection Speed:

Mine was a 64 kbps connection and the downloads easily touched 6-8 KB per second. This makes me sure that the higher speed connection packs too, would be good.

Ease of payments:

Sify has a number of options for collecting payments(in my case, for the prepaid packs). They arrange for someone to come home and collect it. They also have an option of online payments. Quite good.

Value For Money:

The pre-paid packs offered by Sify are very paisa vasool(value for money). I am yet to see other providers offering anyting competing to Sify's packs.

The Bad:

Consistency of connection:

Technically, given that it is a cable connection, it should be available 24 X 7. This is not the case with Sify. The connection went down once almost every two weeks. The software would pop up an error message, and I would have to call Sify Customer Care to get the connection working.

Technical Support:

The people working behind the connection are quite good. My connection would get working very soon after I call Sify Customer Care. It is a different case altogether that the connection should not go down in the first place.

And the Ugly:

Infrastructure:

From what Sify Customer Care tells me, Sify

does not own the complete infrastructure to provide a broadband

Internet service. Since the basic connectivity is via cable network,

Sify depends on the local cable operator for what is called 'Last Mile Connectivity'. Simply put, the cable operator is always the final link between Sify's network and the user's computer.

It

is for this reason that Sify becomes a very unreliable ISP. In my case,

the cable operator has refused to continue the service, and I am stuck

with no connection. There's not much I can do about it.

*Customer Care Helpline:

*To say that it is pathetic would be appreciating it. My experience with Sify's Customer Care has been very bad.

As I have mentioned earlier, the cable operator disconnected my net connection.

  • After this, for about one month, I kept calling Customer Care but all they said was that an engineer would come and check it the next day. Nobody came.

  • After about a month, the Customer Care executives ultimately relented and told me the truth that the connection was down because of the cable operator refusing to co-operate. Then, when I asked them to cancel my account, and refund me the balance, they said it can't be done over the phone. I have to email them.

  • On 1 October 2007, I emailed them for refund and got an automated reply that they would get back within 24 hours. Nobody has replied till date.

  • Over the last 2 months, I must have made umpteen calls to them, and all they did was to say somebody in the back-end team will call me. Again, nobody called back.

  • I had dug out an email address in Sify Mumbai, and mailed that person. In reply, I only got an SMS saying, 'please contact only SIFY BB for your queries'.

  • For the last 10 days, I have been told that my cheque has been dispatched. But I haven't got anything yet. Still waiting.

Moral of the story:

Go for it only if:

1) you are ok with the idea that it might get disconnected anytime

2) you trust your cable operator to continue its services

Of course, purchasing one of the post-paid packs from Sify would be recommended in any case.

Overall, it might work, but you can never be sure. And once you are stuck, it's the end of the road for you.

Monopoly of sify
Dec 04, 2007 11:34 PM

I am using Sify broadband from 9 months but the service is worst.  When I am complaining to customer care(NO FRUITFULL), to cable operator he is telling TAKE SIFY OR LEAVE IT means if you want broadband then you will get only sify or remain without broadband.  I want Relaince Broadnet but my bull**it cable operator is not allowing reliance to give connections in his area.   BSNL  has  some technical  problems to come in my area.

I had made many to complains to sify Customer Care on phone as well as by E-mail but they are not replying to my mails.  I advise noooooot to go for this stupid thing if no other option then go for BSNL atleast better then Sify.

Sify capacity of providing maximum speed is 256kbps in this time when other companies are giving speed upto 4mbps.  I think people should boycott such companies unless bcoz of some problem.

SIFY -- Call it Iffyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Nov 26, 2007 01:11 PM

Copy of the mail sent to Charu V - Head Customer care. Dear Mr Charu (Head SIFY),

Let me congratulate you for having created the worst broadband service ever in India.

I have been using your service for last 7-8 months and stupidly have always paid on time, but your consistency of not renewing my account for atleast 5-6 days after expiry beats me.

To top it all every month there are 5-6 days when the service is down, to get compensated for which you have to talk on the phone for atleast 15-20 minutes, do I need to do cost benefit analysis!!

Whenever I call for disruption or renewal PROBLEM, I am asked to speak to the local distributor, WHY have a customer care at all?

The best is yet to come, the SLA's for geeting the issue resolved is in working hours, so god save you if you file a complaint on Friday, for it will not be resolved by Wednesday, SLAs say 36 working hours $%^%&*....thank god & Sify's NON-Disruptive service that our lives dont run on broadband!!!!!!!

Your lost customer

King of Bad Times - Horrible Customer Care Service
Oct 26, 2007 08:32 PM

The customer care services of Sify are Horrible. While adding a customer in there kitty company sales manager commit anything and when it comes to delivery what is promised its pathetic.

You will never able to speak sales manager with whom you interacted while taking the connection. When faced with problem the standard answer is to speak customer care service representative and they assure you the resolution of problem with in 24 hrs but never resolved with in 24 days.

I have subscribed unlimited plan of 256kbs. From the day the services of sify broadband connection is subscribed by me resulting in to loos of huge money. Every month the service are down due to switch problem, rain ( even if the sky is as clear as crystal) or some sub sea cable is cut  etc. The quality of hardware used is also of very poor quality. The RJ connector is of so poor quality that within month of taking the connection, the connector strat troubling and after putting the complaint 100 times about the replacement of same nothing has happened.

I have spent more than 1000-2000 Rs on phone calls along with the lost of money  which has been paid for but lost service due to some technical snag and never compensated.

My experience with sify broadband connection is HORRIBLE and PATHETIC

SIFY SERVICE IS LOUSY- NEVER TAKE THE CONNECTION
Oct 25, 2007 11:14 PM

I live in Jayanagar, Bangalore.  I am writing this review - after being "disgusted" with SIFY- their service and attitude towards customers. my saga of getting a broadband connection from Sify and getting it to work is the worst ever tragedy that even Shakespeare cant match. right from the marketing guy to the regional manager - their attitude "sucks". Apparently they never heard about customer service.

I applied for a connection on 8th Oct and was promised by the marketing guy that I would get my connection in 2 days. then he disappeared and wouldn't answer my calls. I made 103 calls to him (really!! 103!!). then on 14th, they connected the cables. it was some local cable guy who did the job, but still no connection. then those guys disappeared and wouldnt pick up their phones.

All the while, I kept calling their call center guys and protesting. I called up every single rank of employee - from the receptionist to the regional manager, but everyone passed the buck (nobody was willing to take up the responsibility and rectify the problem). the service and attitude is pathetic, disgusting, revolting, repulsive, obnoxious I can use dirty words also, but this is a public forum.

Even now I am waiting for my connection and I am writing this from a Cafe.

My advice to prospective customers - NEVER TAKE A BROADBAND CONNECTION FROM SIFY EVEN IF THATS THE LAST THING U DO.

Sify, the Costliest, Slowest of 'em all..
Oct 20, 2007 01:38 PM

This brings me to Compare 3 ISPs Sify, Reliance Broadnet and Beam cable as I have used the three of them.

When I was looking for a review about any ISP, I found most of them were rated 1 star; it seems that people decide to write a review when they are not at all satisfied with the service.

Every provider sure has their advantages & disadvantages so I decided to compare and RANK (1 being the better ISP) the providers according to them.

1) Beam Cable Advantages: 1) Speed: as promised by them its 96Kbps and mine is Unlimited package.

2) Price: Rs.400 for Unlimited package including taxes.

3) Customer support is prompt as it is a local provider and their main office is located nearby.

Disadvantages: 1) Needs to login frequently as it logs out some times. (say 1 to 2 times a day.)

2) As the connection is IP based, u cant change the connection to another computer (say if you have a laptop at home.)

As per my knowledge Beam Cable is local and is available only in Hyderabad city.

2) Reliance Broadnet Advantages: 1) As promised by them 75 Kbps for Unlimited package.

2) Uninterupted connection, quite a few breakdowns.

Disadvantages: 1) Customer care The Worst I have seen; their Customer care never attends a phone, even if they did they will ask u to call Mumbai Paid phone.

If u go to any Reliance communications or webworld outlet, they will say that they only deal with Phone and not Internet. (but they will accept bill payments!)

2) If it disconnects u have to wait 3-4 days to get it done as they technicains have to come from Anil Ambanis Mumbai office!

3) Improper billing, they will send bill every 2 months & will disconnect every month for not paying bill, even when executives call they will say they will send it tommorow & tommorow never dies!

3) Sify Advantages: 1) Uninterupted connection, quite a few breakdowns.

Disdvantages: 1) The slowest ISP for that price @ 64Kbps.

2) The costliest ISP, when I took the connection 3 year back, their deposit was Rs.1, 500 and monthly fee was Rs.512 when I discontinued a year ago.

3) Unlimited: Sify has a new meaning for Unlimited connection, it means only data transfer of 150MB/Day means Unlimited (between 8AM to 10PM); if you exceed 150MB/Day your prepaid account will be reduced by 1day/every 25MB used. (If u didn't understand the above math, call sify about those exciting Plans.)

4) As the connection is IP based as with Beam cable, u cant change the connection to another computer (say if you have a laptop at home.)

Conclusion:

1) Never believe the marketing guys promises, check with your neighbours or other users reviews.

2) Check all the availabe packages and choose the best suited for your requirements, again don't believe the marketing guys gimmicks and tricks.

3) If possible you only fill the application with the apt. package; I was tricked by Reliance marketing guy, when I signed the empty application form and gave him he enrolled me with and Phone package extra for Rs.150pm.

When I was told my package costs only Rs.400 for Unlimited Reliance package, he didn't mentioned about the Hidden Taxes, make yourself aware of that package costs.

4) Last but not least, take a local connection instead of MSCs (Multi State Companies)like Reliance; so that if you have any problem you can go to their office and catch their collar, if in case of Reliance Anil Ambani wont be available easily.

If you are not satisfied with the above 3 ISPs dont worry there are many other ISPs like BSNL Dataone Broadband Service, Tata, Airtel Broadband, MTNL VSNL, Dishnet DSL etc.

Compare all thier Packages and Terms from their website and take the best Package available to you, Unlimited being better.

Sify Broadband Service in Bangalore is WORST!!
Oct 19, 2007 10:21 PM

I am from bangalore & working as Soft Engg. I am wasting my precious time to write this review comment because to let all others know about the worst Sify service. I got a new Sify broadband connection few months before..with 128 Kbps unlimited plan for Rs 900/- per month (I previously knew about Sify worst service through several sources (websites, friends etc) but I took the same because in my locality (i.e., Kaveri Layout, Vijaynagar) Sify is the only one ISP available. Airtel is not there..BSNL takes around 1 year) I did this just because to avoid late nights in office. I spent around Rs 5000/- for three months.

While getting connection one guy from Sify sales told that I will get connection in two days. But I did not get it even after one week. If I call them there is not response. If you say to the local sify guys that you will escalate this to their management they do not care at all & will say go complaint. If you call 100 times also they won't pick up the phone at all. It sucks!!! Then I chatted with Sify customer server rep & some how forcefully I got connection. For few days it worked properly & later stared giving problems. No services!! :( Then I spent late night in my home to get internet connection working. I cannot tell every thing I did, please understand why I am writing this....Sify service really sucks!! If every thing works fine then Sify is OK but service is really bad.

Finally I called  Sify guys / personally went to their branch office in vijayanagar & told them to take all the their equipment from my home. After few days they came to my home & I made them to take all accessories.

Never say to your office team that you have Sify broadband. This is because you may come back to office again or need to search for browsing center to send some important mails because of your network not working

Now I can say HAPPILY that I donot have Internet Connection at home!! But sad part is I lost my precious time & money...They said they cannot refund even single rupee ...even connection charges which is 2000/-

I also chatted with the Sify Chat service before I wrote this comment & told them I am going to share this in website / also asked is there any way to get some money back but there also no proper response. (Please see attached figure for your proof)

Your well wisher

No connection no refund even after one year
Oct 16, 2007 06:59 PM

I had applied for SIFY broadband connection more than one year back. I had made the payment as well. But I never got connection. Everytime I call their customer care, I get a new complaint ID and they say that they will look into the matter which never happens.

When I call their customer care, my call gets routed through atleast 6-7 persons before I could reach to correct person. Everytime  I need to give all the details to them as they won't find any track of previous complaints. I would have spent more money on phone call to them that what I had paid them for connection.

They are not even giving any refund as I no longer need connection from them (who will need it after waiting for one year? I have already got connection from different provider.). I suggest you all not to go for SIFY. They are just bunch of cheats.

Hyderabad India
Worst service provider
Oct 06, 2007 06:22 PM

We took unlimited broadband service from the sify broadband.  We don't have the internet connection for over 15 days in this month.  Can you imagine such service?  I called them many many times to complain about this problem.  They tells me that it takes 12 hours to fix it.  I told them that I don't want to spend my money on telephone bills to call sify customer care.

I know that by calling I am wasting my money on telephone bills and I won't get proper response from them.  I waited for so many such 12 hours.  When I asked the customer care rep that I need to speak to a manager, they tells me that their manager is busy and they can get back to me in about 30 minutes.  Even though I requested them that I need to speak to the managers many many times, I never received calls from sify managers.  This tells how much they care about customers.  I decided to move away from sify broadband.

I can imagine how they can make money if they provide such pathetic service to the customers.

I will never come back to sify.  I strongly advice people not to go with sify.
