Come come child… Come into my world.
My paradise on Earth – my domicile – Karnataka, India.
Please come in through the delicate boulevards of Coorg/Hassan/Sakleshpur – all in all - Malnad region:
*A place to esteem the rains.
to bequeath the sycamore of assorted greenery.
to savor the early morning birds,
to grasp the clamp of blue skies,
with caffeine or soup,
an ipod and mungaaru male easy on the ear.
*Sitting through the movie with eyes wide open and being a part of this genuine place on Earth, these words recurred in my mind uncaught. That was the endless effect of the movie –“Mungaaru male”
“Rapunzel, Rapunzel Nandini, Nandini
with hair so fine,
Come through the window
Climb down the wine”
Is unceasingly running in our hero – Ganesh (Preetam’s) mind who has fallen for the purity and sparkle he sees in Sanjana Gandhi(Nandini) at a mall – LAFS. Our Preetam, the romantic choir meets Nandini repeatedly especially in the season of “Mungaaru male(first monsoon shower)” – rains and rains and shots at rains! And the age that is, lavishly enjoys the combination of the fresh dews and the spring of love in his heart for the lady – Nandini and springs music, dreams and enters into the world of bliss to pursue her. Meanwhile, he understands she is engaged which shatters our sweetheart Preetu. With a sad heart, he decides to overlook those fine days of glory cries, allows the rain and dusk to wash away his tears, and runs back to his homeland. While on way, unexpected occurs – Nandini calls him with sarcasm and informs him as an inadequate aficionado and disdains his words and love as faulty. So, his ego, love in the corner coupled with the shower’s sway forces him back to pursue her.
On his way back, he meets a cute rabbit names him Devdas and that is the only symbol in this whole movie who has witnessed the cute short love story between Preetu and Nandu.
Now, the excellent comedy timing, handsome(ergh.) and sensible Preethu begins to pull Nandu into his love trap which is excellently placed in the movie tied with nature scenes amidst the strong aroma of coffee plants and doused atmosphere blends into her family offering her security, love, family, emotions, happiness, pranks and all – just all. The music chores are exceptional- by Mano Murthy(USA). It touches the heart and manages to retain there without ur say-so. Now, after-all “Love knows no language, ethics BAR” The screaming Preethu’s voice snatcher Nandu. Our childlike Nandu wholly falls in love with Preethu and decides to inform the same to him and then, when she tells it to him – is one scene that cannot be missed – cannot be missed at all. She takes him to the top of Jog Falls(highest falls) and decides to shout from there to tell the whole world that she is in love and he is apt for her. The cinematography, audio, video and the top-most point shot in different angles are undoubtedly a not-miss.
*The kiss of winds on the top of a hill,
The milky cascades of Jog running through the hill,
The sheer force of water – represents her love – her love to him – Preethu
Oh hills, Oh greenery, Oh winds, Oh Jog – witnessed the love
And Blessed them.*
But, moving finger did not let this happen. Misfortune stuck its hand into their lives. As much as Preethu hates it. Nandu’s/Preethu’s parents convince Preethu and he decides to be a “good boy” in the eyes of everyone instead of being a villain and spoiling her family name and decides not to be a loafer and lets the Nandu(his lady love) marry the guy whom she was engaged to.
However, he loved her to the core and will always do .
Also, Devdas – the witness in the movie died at the end.
Finally, it rained on one's parade – Preethu’s – so much for rains.
Though a little late review, this must be penned down for future reference.
