MORNING NOON AND NIGHT by Sidney Sheldon
THE GAME OF INHERITANCE.
ISBN -0-446-60221-3
He is a good writer, I have read many of his works and also seen some serials and films based on his writings. It is difficult to conjure up so many stories and details of people from naught and make them memorable characters. Under this book we are reviewing, there is Harry Stanford, Tyler Stanford, Julia Kendall Renaud, Sally, Margo, Steve Sloane,
Peggy, Woody, Durer, Dmitri, Marc, Hal Baker, Simon Fitzgerald, Lee, Rosemary Nelson. There is once person (character) who is binding all these together in a very moving story is Harry Stanford, I liked this idea of building a story around one person, who dies just in the beginning of the book and there is a swarm of people who are related to this central character in their different capacities.
Tyler Stanford is a Judge, how come a educated country elect a gay person Judge, I mean a person who does not do justice with his own body, why should he be allowed to sit on justice on others, It is very wrong. We cannot reverse INPUT/OUTPUT devices of computers.
We live in a planet which has justice spread all over it, we have just combination of gases for air we breath, we have communities of Lions, Tigers, Ants, Parrots everything in a perfect state of equilibirium. No living thing except MAN breaks the law of nature. Instead of punishing law breakers (nature) we are accommodating these people. we are giving them a chance to spread their evil to innocents in our society. The long tongues of people are hurtling our planet into abyss of Aids. Why chase rainbows when we have lot of contamination to deal here on terra firma.
Small descriptions of people immersed us in the building up of the story fast and moving like a big 180 footer yacht. We don’t know repulsive, vomit inducing character of Tyler until later, he is repulsive, I have a respect for high post holding people, to see judge Tyler into a despicable development, I just cannot hate it enough. Poor Kendall is being blackmailed and the sufferings a victim goes thru blackmail is too much. This book is 388 pages long, interesting small sections are interwoven intricately into a big whole story at fast flashing pace.
The drifting is unresolved overall giving you will to drift along the story, the villain is just grazing the skin of the reader, there are many more strokes just leading us on to see the game of inheritance, the inheritance is of Billions, the children are desperate, the other offspring are unaware they have a right to claim their inheritance just beautiful strokes all thru this novel.
Cities and Beaches, Jets and Yatches are deliciously described, I enjoyed city pictures, Airports, people following others, its a bit of everything in this novel, it has short simple very plain sentences, well written, Sheldon erects a Billionaire, he shows his appetite, his working ways, his aura and his mean steak, the resentment of his children towards the father, there is a daughter born out of wedlock, there are a few gay characters, I found this book study in power writing, reading this book makes you understand how this writer sold 275 million books.
This story itself is not a great shake, there are no thrills like Bourne Identity but over all you have play of emotions all along, each page of this book. Strong feelings are evoked in every scene of this book, there is a connection we cannot deny, hate is evident all thru , perhaps so much of hate has made this book a memorable read. I think the book should have been named THE INHERITORS, because the greatest irony in this book is the inheritance of Billions, I suppose the chase of money is worth exploring, it is always exciting to see money chase, by ourselves, or other people, what they are willing to go thru to get their hands on money, there are so many emotional dreams attached with money, we all love to read and think about money.
I am a person who lives every second of my life with full heart, I have heart in my food, I have heart in my clothes, I have heart in my readings, I have heart in the selection of website I choose to visit, I had my heart in this book, I have my heart with Sidney Sheldon.
Yo heart is a organ being abandoned for the sake of mind.
