Bajaj Pulsar DTSi Reviews

It was drizzling… and I still remember the day when my Father rode his Bajaj KB 100 and came to pick me up from my school. It was our Christmas holiday and how excited I was to pack all my bags from my hostel to leave… My Father was very proud to own it since it had released with a style… The Kawasaki brand name attached to Bajaj gave hype for the rest to lay an eye on her… It’s time… For the brand Bajaj to reach on top, giving a tight competition to their competitors… But… we live in a country where Hero Honda rules… Honda is a huge brand… Now, it’s my time to have a discussion on Bajaj Pulsar 150 cc DTSi…

*- This review is dedicated to all the riders out here -

--Basic Information--

Bajaj Pulsar comes in four variants and they are 220cc, 200cc, 180cc and 150cc. If you ask me which the best in the lot is, then I may sit in a corner and think. I’m still thinking… But, I bet they all have their own class of customers.

-Why am I talking about 150cc?-*-

Well, I believe most of us live in a country where petrol is more precious than anything and it’s very important to think about mileage before owning any vehicle. As compared to the other variants, I personally believe(I’m sure even you will agree) 150cc gives more mileage.

-Why then Pulsar?-

My friend has got a Pulsar and he has spent all his money on its modification. It’s just that he is so attached to the bike that he just doesn’t care spending on it. I have advised him to sell it and go for a Karizma(I keep changing my bike). But the guy just doesn’t want to sell it and it still at its best. So the point is, unlike Hero Honda, its spare parts come in low cost.

-How much does it cost?-

It will cost you around 67000 to 70000 Rs on road.

-How long do I have to wait for it?-

Kindly approach a good showroom and you will get the vehicle on availability. My friend had to wait for about 15 days just because he ordered for ‘red’ color. Oh, it does matter.

-Why didn’t I go for Bajaj Pulsar?-

That’s a genuine question there. When my friend booked for Pulsar, I went ahead to take a bit risk. Well, the bike was just launched and I went ahead to buy Unicorn. But, it worked and it wasn’t a risk at all.

- Reasons for which I bought Unicorn over Pulsar:

1. Its indicators keep breaking.

2. Its break shoes need to get fixed or changed quite often(6-9 months).

3. They don’t have a helmet lock.(I’m not too sure if they solved this issue)

4. For long rides, Pulsar is not too comfortable and I had a backache once.

5. Disk break is not that great compared to Unicorn.

-Why am I writing this review now?-

Well, the above problems haven’t stopped anyone buying this brand. And I’ll go for one due to the following factors.

1. Styling

2. Its renowned Digital Twin Spark Ignition Engine.

3. Engine oil cooler to control the temperature.

4. Digital speedometer.

5. Wide tyre which gives more grip on the road.

6. Availability and price of spare parts compared to the other bikes.

-Why should you go for Pulsar?-

Perhaps, pulsar is the first bike in India gave a tight competition to CBZ. Many of us would agree that Pulsar rocked big time and left Hero Honda in gag. Later Unicorn came in the picture and still the competition between the brands is on fire. But we never know who rules over the market. But they have an urge in ruling the market as we know about the launch of 200cc and 220cc to compete with Karizma. It’s working… Pulsar’s throttle response is much better than the rest. All you got to do is to twist the throttle and this beast will pull you along with him @ 8500 RPM. Its 17’nch alloy wheels do provide a good grip on the road and of course who doesn’t want to compromise over its trendy looks and fuel efficiency(Mileage expected 50-55).

-Now what are its cons?-

Well, it’s not advisable for people who are tall(6ft) since its riding posture is not apt for them. Like I have mentioned earlier, its disk break is not that good compared to Unicorn since they are very sensitive and you got to be very careful applying them at a speed over 70 kmp.

-Then, why should we go for it?-

Who doesn’t like to rip on it? Just twist the throttle and it will take you at a speed of 60 in seconds. All you have to do is, ride safely. And all you have is a beast who could touch 100 kmp, overtaking its competitors due to its pick up.

-A note for the riders:-

Kindly maintain the bike in good shape and maintain a speed of 45 kmp prior to its first service.

-As when I conclude:-

It was drizzling… and I still remember the day when my Father rode his Bajaj KB 100 and came to pick me up from my school. It was our Christmas holiday… I was young to ride on it… But now, it’s time… Time to leave home and rip on to those slippery fields…

Bajaj Pulsar 150 the soullless bike
Apr 14, 2009 01:14 PM 6874 Views

I purchased bajaj pulsar 150 2 yrs ago. my verdict is that this bike is for people who are looking for a stable ride , very less bumpy and best sound in its segment. It gives a good mileage of 60 km/litre

i have yamaha rx 135 also. comparing these two yamaha rx 135 is somewhat militant bike. Although yamaha is much speedier than bajaj pulsar and also it loves to be above 70 km/hour. Bajaj is somewhat shy in speeds above 70km/hr. lower than that bajaj is better. its bulky and when you drive it you feel royal touch.

When I say bajaj is shy I mean the engine sounds like as if a man runs a 1 km race and he is out of stamina after 600 metre. No doubt bajaj can touch good speeds but not fun. at high speeds driving the bike feels like driving something stationary.

You don't feel that you are driving at 90km/hour. The bike feels strange at high speeds. like eating a tamasic food.I feel funny driving pulsar at high speeds unlike driving yamaha. The digital speedometer is not we wanted. the old speedometer could have been improved. lower than 60km/hr I will recommend bajaj pulsar. negative feature of yamaha is its more bumpy ride than pulsar. and its mileage is just 43 km litre.

On lower gears bajaj has an advantage in pick up and speed over yamaha. but yamaha you can easily take the bike to 70 km /hr in 4th gear unlike pulsar which says hey dude you are heating me up for no reason. finally I would say this yamaha rx 135:- is like true rambo bike the more you speed the more it is hungry to eat the road pulsar 150:- is just a show off . the more you speed you regret buying it unless you are looking for stability , royal feeling and good mileage.

Many people will disagree with me. they would say pulsar is the best. maybe that suits their personality. for me yamaha is a sattvic bike with and pulsar a tamasic bike. why I say it tamasic is because you don't know how a particular part of pulsar is performing. While driving yamaha you know how the engine is responding. Bajaj doesn't have a soul of its own. what I mean is it look like a public bike like public transport. yamaha is personal.

Pulser 150 cc Review after 29,000 Km ...VFM bike
Mar 19, 2009 01:05 PM 5278 Views

I am Shesh performance of my Pulsar Dtsi 150 forced me to write the review. I am frequent visitor of mouthshut.com from last 4 yrS..

ll reviews really help me to select the bike as per my requirements. I bought the Pulsar 150 cc (Black) on sept 2005 till now...I have completed 29K without a single problem.

I did lot many long drives of 400 Km one side…My pulsar supported like anything...Fantastic road grip and road presence, breaking system very very good …Mileage was around 63 tested with full tank to full tank basis (Power Petrol) on highway.

I stay in pune city my daily usage is around 50 Km (mixed highway as well as city) in a days in a heavy traffic I am getting 59-60 KM/Ltr with normal petrol. Tested with full tank to Full tank basis. Even checked in the service centre.

I am very much satisfied with the performance even I have not spent a single penny other than the normal servicing…..no parts replacement …nothing…Some use full points that I follow might help you all to get the better mileage and performance.

  1. Prefer power petrol or speed for 4-6 months if you bike is new and follow the instructions in the user manual till the second free service that helps the engine to settle and give the optimum performance.

  2. Drive the bike always in 50-60..avoid unwanted hard breaking and racing

  3. If you are waiting more than 100 sec on a single try to switch of the engine ( I know it’s difficult if u don’t have the electric start)

  4. Avoid unwanted gear shift and maintain.

  5. Always go for a kick start in the morning rather electric start this habit help to increase the battery life.

  6. Change the gears as per the speed and traffic conditions…..use less clutch (I mean I saw lots of people in the single stop the bike and keep waiting in the first gear with clutch engaged...)

  7. Clean the air filters once in 6 months (I saw in the normal service …… people will not clean the air filter….)

Have fun…safe drive ….Pulsar is a really good Bike considering all aspect except seating comfort…..

Thanks you all ….comments welcome!!

PULSAR a Real Man's Bike...
Mar 02, 2009 10:05 PM 3137 Views

I just rode my friends Pulsar 150 DTSi last week and its awesome. after riding my Bajaj Aspire I felt I was flying on the pulsar.

I have ridden the Honda Unicorn, but it was hardly any fun compared to Pulsar. The rugged sound of the engine and the macho bulk looks are just what a man needs to feel big.

With such an awesome sound I thought the vibrations at the handles would also be there, but I was fooled. The sound and vibes remain in the engine and do not make you feel anything at the handles.

One bad, and rather uncomfortable thing was about the riders foot rest, it is too forward for a tall person, and since my legs are farely long I did start to get a catch while riding. Short people may not notice this but the taller people may have to rearrange their riding posture.

Everything u need!
Feb 22, 2009 01:51 PM 2788 Views

I am the oldest user of the pulsar dtsi technology ever since it was launched in 2005 (if my memory serves right!).

Till date my bike the pulsar 150cc dtsi has never ever let me down. I have survived as many as three serious crashes and have lived to tell the story.

All because of my bike's quick response system. the crash destroyed my head light and nothing else. The engine still runs with the same class as it used to when I 1st bought it back in 2005.

Now when I was about to buy the bike back then, I was confused between honda unicorn and bajaj. Unicorn gives 60km/ltrs which is 10km better than pulsar.

But back then we had never seen such a good looking bike before. so, I went for it because of two reasons:

1) Bajaj is an Indian company and my dad had scooter by bajaj and he is still using it. so I knew that its a dependable bike even before I bought it. and my hunch or instinct was right on!

2) The sheer beauty of the bike was amazing. I am from a middle class family and this was more than want I could get for myself.

After using the bike though I understood that bajaj bike is not all about looks or the DTSI technology. the bike gave me the same feel as my dad's scooter gave him.

No! I dont mean like a scooter! but a sense of security, a sense of a dependable bike, a sense of strenght etc. (the list is huge)

Even after 4 years I enjoy my bike like I did when I 1st bought it! after sitting on the pulsar 150cc bike, u cant sit in any bike which is lean.

U tend to get a feel of a cycle when u sit on any hero honda bike which is less the 150cc. When you are riding pulsar its like your riding on a tiger! its an awsome feel!

pros:

1) Main thing that I wanted was looks and if u have seen a pulsar dtsi, u know its all about looks.

2) Feul efficiency! no matter how you ride ur tiger (pulsar 150cc) it will always give u 50km/ltrs.

3) Tough enough! as I told u before! I have survived three serious crashes! except for a broken head light. I have never suffered any damage!

4) This feature was in the old pulsar, the model I am using. its called MILOMETER. when ever u put petrol u can turn the milo meter to zero and check on ur own how much fuel efficiient ur pulsar is!

5) Riding pleasure in a pulsar can only be described by a pulsar user! cant put ur price on that!

6) Dependable in every sense of the word!

7) Hit with the ladies. one of my girl friends actually likes to pay me to ride her around delhi and she raves about how comfortable pulsar is, than her dads hero honda!

8) Fast, its so fast it makes other 150cc bikes look like a toad! 0-60 in a mere 7 seconds (it may be lesser in the new models)

9) Low maintenance cost makes it idle for everyday use. trust me on this one!

Cons:

1) Tyre of this beast are not up to the mark! they tend to slip easily in gravel, sand and other types of small stones

2) The service center people don't take care of the problem (if any) properly. they tend to miss out on a lot! and hence, we have to go back and stand on there heads to get it right!

Unfortunately, this is all the negative I can think off! sorry to disappoint u though! I am a die-hard fan of this bike! thanks for reading my review. I hope it has helped u out!

Thanking you

Aashish george!

The minuses
Feb 18, 2009 01:01 PM 2202 Views

The one thing that I dont like and I really hate about this bike is the dashboard indicators. they never ever give a true picture as to how much fuel u have remaining in the bike. even if it is filled up at times it will show a red light indicating that u got to get in to Reserve.

It will also show 2 or 3 bars at one time indicating level of fuel remaining, then suddenly it shows zero bars even while the bike is staionary. During the monsoon ive had so many problems with it. it wont work if a lot of water is poured over it wch happens while it rains dont it ? even the mechanics at the service center know its a dud. I wish there was something that could be done about this real soon .

Everything else on this bike is great and I am happy that I bought it a couple of years ago. I am a very careful user and I always get in services regularly from a bajaj center, but lately I am not getting my moneys worth especially from the bajaj service center. they seem to be doing a haphazard job and try to pass it off as an expert job. it leaves much to be desired.

Bajaj best. pulsar best bike in world
Feb 08, 2009 10:44 PM 4482 Views

I buy bajaj pulsar bike 150 dsti last year. its very good bike so I am writing here.i joined mouthshur to write about bike here today. sorry if my english bad ok.

I see many people tell bike is bad, bike is bad quakity, not reliable, but I tell that they are many fools. this bike has been the best performance to me since the 1 year.no body can touch it and nobody can sees it on road when I go so so fast.

The stupid hunk, extrem, apache and uncorn are not match for this beauty. I race with them everyday beat all and nobody stop me. u tell people how come then this bike not best in 150. I easily touch 130kms on this biki and top speed is 145kms I find bike handle also very great and u can easily stop in 2-3 second from high speeds.i say u can do back wheel in air without problems like advertisement without scare.

Milage too getting very good and think is 65+kms and above I think. which bike give so much style and so good milage to. I like this biks look and nobody can touch it. Karizma is worst bike no power or wheels up it can do hunk looks like pregant bike so big and heavy. Apache is for kids to go shool to ride

Extrem is stupid looking and so is uncorn , both very bad and cost factor too. yahama bikes are for old people and not value money good. r5 and f16 are too cost and no good. I don't know who like such bike when bajaj give us best bikes nd good features which no bike contained.

I like the lights and horn. its so loud anybody can hear and go side of u. the total black looks sexy and my girlfriend feels so burning. it makes other man bikes girls also come to me! so this bikes is best for riding ur girlfriend.

the engine is powerful to. a get pick up and my wheels fly up...no joking...and this makes my girl to hold tight me back. Bajaj give us good chronology by dts and no bike beats it performance. I challenge any bikes to race and he loose badly my promise. I love my bike very much and my girl become reds haha.

But I cannot stop loving my bike and I love more than her and tell sorry to her..and she like the bike also much.my fiends all burning from bike and me so happy. Nobody can loose me in race, there passion, flame discover , boxer and fire are slow and me see faces with they loose too.

My only say to people is most of here are fools. Don't become fool and get smart. pulsar is male only and no other bike is male , only but female. Yr style impression will become super and all girls will be mad on you. Because of this great bike I get many girls. if u loos chance then u will loose the best bike India and loose all girl too my promise.

Love all muthu.

Problem with DTSi
Jan 12, 2009 12:25 AM 4186 Views

Well this is not a Pulsar review so may be few ppl wil not like it.but I m hoping for some positive replies.

Well I want to share something abt this DTSi technology which I know from years, fromt the year when it came first in the market by Bajaj

I m not any Anti-Bajaj guy.I really appreciate good old Pulsar when it came first in market(non DTSi).I m talking abt mainly for 150 cc

I m prompted to write this cos I have not seen a single review abt this Technology on Mouth Shut. And I saw so many Pulsar guys to say like that Pulsar is not good for Long Run.or I lost my power of bike after 15000 kms or 2 years which I was experiencing earlier when I bought first.let me tell you.i myself have beaten a pulsar guy with my Rx 135.my bike can reach 110 kmph easily.

As far as my Knowledge concern, this DTSi technology means Two Spark Plugs.Actually this is not good for your engine in long run.Initially it will give that mileage and Power but later not. Why?

First of All Our Engine is made of mainly iron.or u can say not a good combination of metals.like different in that in Yamaha R15 where they use excellent engine(Aluminium and Silicon)no iron at all.

Iron used to get heat up soon.

And 2nd thing.2 Spark Plugs will produce more heat in the Cylinder and resultant will be slow death of engine.so Initially you will like it.as Engine is fresh.but slowly.due to Heat produced from Spark Plugs, it start destroying engine.

I may be wrong as I m not Mechanical Engineer.but I think I m near perfect.Company just want to sell their bikes. There is something wrong in this new DTSi technology

And yes I will really appreciate all the comments on this thing abt DTSi.i will be happy if anyone can prove me wrong on this. Why anyone need 2 Spark Plugs.just think abt it.

Worst Service
Dec 24, 2008 05:24 PM 2417 Views

I like to share my own exp with pulsar.I bought P150 on mar 2005, it was really good till 2007. Then I faced many problems with my bike.

1) My silencer cracked with no reason n I spend 3000 for silencer. This was a known issue of bajaj n they replaced the silencer in the next edition...

2) The bajaj service stations in chennai are very worst...they are keen on changing the spares rather than repairing them. The minimum bill amt for service is rs 1200 ( for minor works) and service has to be done for every 60 days. Jai bajaj in mambalam, Chennai is the worst ever service station where they will do only water wash n change the spares. They don't even know to fix minor problems...Even if your battery is down they wont charge it instead they will insist u to change the battery.

3) Mileage: For first 2 yrs I got 45kmpl but now I'm getting 32 kmpl.

3 of my friends bought pulsar and faced the same problem. If you buy pulsar, you'll be enjoying the ride for 2-3 yrs then will face all sort of problems especially the service.

Pulsar

Would like to share my views about the bike with you,

Styling & build> Best you can expect:

After all those old fashioned & same looks bike it realyy brings the revolution in the matter of style & build. It lloks really a stunner in this segment. The fox eyed light & led tail lamps give (in the new one) an amzing look. The colours available & the combination is reach as well.

Bajaj pulsor always provide you with many different things like swithches of indiactors, a led tail lamp, side stand indicators, front disc braek oil lavel indicator, an unique glass engine oil lavel indiactor on engine all this amazing features are provided which are always prod feeling when others don’t have it :-)

Engine & performance> **Its really a cheetah :

With the given 150cc you can just roar away on the road like a king. With the power of 14ps it gives you full satisfaction on the higways & even off road also. You can reach a top speed of 115

Kmph on a good smooth road. A 0-60 kmph sprint in a just 7 to 8 sec is amazing.

l efficiency> too much for any 1500cc bike. It give you a average around 50-55 kmpl in city after all the way long signals & a traffic who will ask you to braking & gear shifting continuously & 55-60 kmpl on highways at above 90 kmph speed maintaining all through the ride without compromising anything Doesn't it sound to economical for this segment bike?

Ride & handelling : Definitely a smooth & performing ride

With the hydraulic rear shocks (for new one) it gives you a smooth & comfortable ride even on off roads.

Bad bick
Dec 11, 2008 11:29 AM 3316 Views

This bike is very risk because most of accident to these bike. High speeds and the people have to no control the last time of accident and other these bike engineering and quality is bad. Different types of voices in to the engines and other part is also braked. So i don't like to these types of bike. Other things no any review to my friends.

I have advices to my friends you not to purchase to this bike because these types bike to very risk to drive and no to control the high speeds. These bike is most of drive in highway but the younger person to not understanding to these and they are big accident then they also death and other person also to the effect like their family.

Second things the bike only for capacity two person if 3 to 4 person site to these bike so their engines volume to be changed. And they are no used to the more than 2 people. So these bike to be bad and their pollution also very. So these bikes to be dangers for the human life. I suggest to the people don't use to these bikes and save the environment and society.

Thanks

Poor quality
Dec 04, 2008 08:20 PM 6745 Views

My younger bro had been crying 4 a pulsar. I was on hero honda's side for obvious reason of gr8 quality and utmost reliability...

What i saw 2 days bak(thankfully , my brother was also wid me in my car) , i would highly recommend people not to buy it.

I've seen people don't have a valid reason to buy it except that " sab kehte hain theek hai". Has anybody thought of reliability, quality & safety.. No, no.. We youngsters are using our money on wrong products, playing with safety also. (aisa tashan kis kaam ka, friends). Now, what did i see ! (im enclosing pics as well)

I was on the way to drop my bro to his tuition. I saw a live accident of pulsar & hero honda glamour head-on. Speed of both vehicles would have been 40-50. Result of accident was astonishing.

Front fork of pulsar bent down;

Pulsar guy was thrown ahead over the headlight

He broke his wrist

Frame bearing brake pedal of pulsar on right side broke in unbelievable way

Front leg guard went inside as if it was born there only.

Glamour guy fell down;got up & looked at poor pulsar chap;took him to hospital.

Friends ! Quality of all parts is very bad. Just bad.

If didnot ride pulsor then you missed plesure
Nov 24, 2008 01:09 PM 2974 Views

If you want to be have a good pleasure of riding a bike then go and ride pulsor. If you did not ride pulsor bike then definitely  you missed pleasure of  riding a good bike in India.

I buy this bike because it has a great look of its muscular tank which of its kind in India. It has introduced new style of bikes in India, it has DTSi that is Digital Twin Spark Ignition through which it give more comfort, fuel efficiency etc.

The students should buy this bike because this bike will give style to there student life other than students adults can buy this bike but the professional and executive should not buy this bike it is not suitable for there profession.

The only thing which I dislike the bike is this bike looks very heavy which which shows that this bikes is suitable for only for degree or PG students. Although it has same weight of other bikes.

Pulsar 150 DTSi: Above average performer.
Nov 22, 2008 10:18 PM 3736 Views

I am regular reader of Mouthshut reviews, so here is my attempt to share my experience with this bike, every suggestion and comment is very much appreciated.

Before starting my review I would like to tell that I have a Pulsar 150 dtsi purchased on Dec 2003, till now it has clocked 30, 000 kms on odo. Its a spoke wheel, old bajaj logo, Electric start, dtsi initial lot model.

The overall performance of this bike is above average for me. So I will start with the Pros of this bike,

Pros:

  1. Power delivery- The power delivery is one of the best in class and I have never let any of my friend to have an edge in any kind of fun race, on freeways or in city.

  2. Pickup- I may be some what unlucky in this area as from the day one I purchased this bike I come to know that this bike is not having the pickup as my other friends pulsars were having. This is particularlly about my bike only.

  3. Mileage- Many of you will not believe me that my bike gives me an average of 60-65 in city conditions, and 70-73 on highway conditions, may be due to my riding style as I always ride in 45-55 kmph speed, exeptions aside.

  4. Handling- This bike is one of the heaviest but handling is one of the best.

Cons:

  1. Suspension- The worst in the class, may be this also my personal experience but even after trying all available settings in suspension, its giving me backpain.

  2. Cold start- this problem worsens in winters as it does not starts without minimum 5 kicks, electric start is a pity.

  3. Engine oil leaks- may be this problem is universal for pulsar bike as I have seen most Pulsars with bleeding engines, though it is not affecting much but seems pretty bad as oil catches dirt.

  4. Chain noise- This problem is weird as every time I have adjusted the chain it gets loose within a month and even its tightened or not it gives a unwanted sound as I ride over bumps. This bike has served me a lot and I love my bike from bottom of my heart like any other bike lover, but I seriously thinking of buying a new one because of all these cons I have mentioned.

Please suggest and comment,

Enjoy your rides and ride safe.

Surprising Problem's
Nov 07, 2008 01:40 PM 2406 Views

Hello ppl out there who r really pissed off with their Pulsar 150 DTSI like me . So here the story of this  Pulsar starts. I bought this when I though it was a Beauty in October 2006 from showroom it was just 7 days before they launched a Digital meter Pulsar . so mine is a normal one "NOT DIGITAL METER" but the "ENGINE IS OF DIGITAL METERED PULSAR" .A unique one defitinately . So the problem starts after riding 32000 KMS . I always maintain my bike and change its ENGINE OIL every 2000 kms . but i've noticed a very Unique and  prob and tht is ENGINE OIL is disappearing like "PUFF" even when there are no signs of oil leaks anywhere near the engine nor at the end of the SILENCER and its still running without polluting any smoke .! there was around half liter of Oil which was gone when I was changing the ENGINE OIL . i.e on every 2000 kms half liter of Oil is disappearing. nd no major noise from the Engine . I think its the normal sound of Engine and the prob is like butt.

i believe many of u have faced this problem and my Mechanic is saying that after 4-5 months Bore and the piston has to be changed or else it will start polluting smoke . I wonder still its running smoothly . A UNIQUE PROBLEM .

Can anyone please help me with this one Please contact

Bajaj Pulsar - Servicing
Nov 01, 2008 11:15 PM 2194 Views

I have Pulsar 150 DTSi, initially the bike was running smooth, but recently I am facing lots maintenance problem. At every servicing, Service center usually charges hell of money for spare parts claiming the original one's.

Even I wonder sometimes, (in spite of observing servicing through glass window), whether genuinely replace parts. Due to heavy load to workers, they pay very less attention to every bike (compared to private garage) and finish it in hurry.

One thing I must admit and realized, that bile must be one hand used, then only u can enjoy it long-term.

Pulsar DTSi 150cc is the most attractive, low cost maintanance bike. I buy this on Nov 2004 and not so much problems yet accept few normal maintenance. Every bike which is ONE HAND USED and get Periodic Maintanance make healthier life. I read some of review they bleme on Bajaj Co. but I think they does wonderful job and Changing looks of bikes also in engine, style and many more in this Compition Summer.

If low cost of parts available in the market. It is easy and best to get ORIGINAL Products of Bajaj.

There are four periodic maintance is free but after this Company Charged huge amount on Basic Parts with VAT which is not affordable.

The Milage is also good  within 2 yrs which is 55 to 60 Kmph in City run. After 2 to 3 yrs it show less of 10 kmph which is 45 to 50kmph. But if you get periodic maintainance like Oil Change, Carbon Regulator Wash, Tyre Wheel Moving Capacity, Chain Setting etc.

But any how, I like this bike so much I used my bike in ONE HAND USED, Regular maintain which Show good Riding and Styling.

Thank You

The best choice in 150cc category bikes

I own a black pulsar 150 dts-i digital for the past 15 months.

First things first:

I would like to clarify certain complaints on the pulsar and of course make some of my own comments on it.

The pulsar is certainly not for the older people(though it is not popular with them). I mean people above 35-40 depending on yr fitness.it is not a good ride for people who are comparatively weak. The bike is just not for the short people. Unlike other bikes, this is bigger and requires more leg length.

Don't go for this bike even if u mildly consider mileage.for mileage bikes you have a hell lot of choices.not the pulsar.come on lets be realistic.til now there few bikes awarding 50 plus mileage and also allowing a great power ride.only one can be offered properly

This bike is made for the highways and long roads. So people who are regularly on roads where one cant cross 20-25 or get stuck in bad traffic everyday(of course man this is india!), you'll be left simply raring to go once you get on a good road but not until then.

And last-this is a 150 cc bike!

So leave off your past experiences with 100 to 135cc bikes.

For people who satisfy these conditions, you'll just feel like god himself on the road.no kidding! And how is tat? Load it as much as you can. U still get a race bike pick up. Even the steepest slopes, u just climb on like magic. Take someone on with you, the only thing they ll miss is a back seat to lean on, even on the worst roads!(trust me i have got all the compliments). The bike is made for the highway as said before and right from 41 kmph(tat is at 5th gear) you never feel anything but the wind. No jerks, no sounds!

The ride is pretty smooth and since its heavier, at higher speeds you don't get the "wobbling effect" you get on other bikes(meaning caliber, spledour, discover 125). The power of this bike is its biggest plus. No doubt.

And by looks, nobody, that's right nobody has told me its poor.everyone stops to look even if there are a million bikes around.

That's why even the biggest haters of pulsar don't comment a single line on its looks. The bike is quite sturdy. The roads around me are worst, in fact there are very few thar roads.the only damage that occurred was i changed the bike's rear wheel bearings. Tat too i changed beacause of the slight discomfort i experienced on terrible roads.

I met with an unfortunate accident during which a huge wooden log rammed right through my bike's mid section, taking off the air filter and the connection link to the engine, i was able to get back on the road within half an hour. Just a little service of removing and re-fitting. In my opinion, i thought that was good. The bike has real good brakes. I am a very careful driver and the brakes have helped me avoid accidents many times.

And there are drawbacks.

The bike is quite heavy.balancing the bike with someone heavy behind you in slow traffic and bad roads is quite a challenge.

The bike is not for slow riding since the power of the bike can seldom be experienced in slow rides. So you ll be left frustrated that you got such a powerful engine just to watch it.

The much hyped digital indicator system is a total let down. Of course except the stunning red back light.the fuel indicator really annoys you by indicating reserve just after you fill the tank.so you are left to attend it with your own technology, rather than the hi-tech fuel indication system

The bottom line is, i liked this bike.and frankly i got this mainly because there are more service centres in chennai and because the bike was already a hit.a hit-meaning that its spare parts are ever-available at the market.whereas even in chennai, honda has very little service centres.(since we considered honda unicorn)

The second reason was the honda unicorn needed care. Read it right -'care' and not maintenance.the bike was better than pulsar in many aspects but for its better performance, we needed to drive it under restricted conditions like 50-60 kmph driving, etc., so we finally decided on this

So if you make the decision to get this bike you will not be sorry.so my recommendation of this bike is "yes"

So people, this is my view. Everything i have mentioned above are my opinions of the bike. You are invited to post comments-any similar views, corrections or objections.

After all, this is to guide someone in making a decision
