Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 Reviews

Ghaziabad India
Good bike in this segment..
Aug 09, 2016 02:42 AM

Bajaj pulsar is India's no.1 sports bike brand. #Pulsar AS 200 is a premium sportz bike, wider rear tyre, split seats, dual disc brakes, digital meter, engine kill switch. It is a 199.5cc bike comes with a power of 23.5 bhp, can go up to 145 km/hr(personally run), the best part is it is slim as compare to other bikes as its exhaust is located under engine, the exhaust sound and good at turning. Average is best, it gives 37 to 40 km/liter in city.

The projector lamps are just beautiful at night and even looks stunning when pass key is used in day time. If some one is planning for a bike below 1 lakh then go for it. even better than #Pulsar RS200. I have a pulsar 220 DTS-FI, and I am planning to buy it. Suits #Blue color best.

Very nice bike 40 average in palsar 200
Aug 03, 2016 01:23 AM

The Bajaj Pulsar is a motorcycle brand owned by Bajaj Auto in India. The two wheeler was developed by the product engineering division of Bajaj Auto in association with Tokyo R&D, [1] and later with motorcycle designer Glynn Kerr. Currently there are five variants available, with engine capacities of 135 cc, 150 cc, 180 cc, 200 cc, and 220 cc.

Previously it was also offered with a 200 cc DTS-i oil cooled engine, which now has been discontinued. Instead a new version Pulsar 200NS was launched in 2012. But then Pulsar 200NS production was discontinued in August 2015.[2] With an average monthly sales of around 86, 000 units in 2011, Pulsar claimed a 2011 market share of 47% in its segment.[3] By April 2012, more than five million units of Pulsar were sold.

Bajaj Pulsar AS 200
Aug 02, 2016 11:18 PM

After the NS(Naked Sport), and Racing Sport(RS) we’ve Bajaj has now revealed the Adventure Sport(AS) series of small capacity performance motorcycles. It’s been a while since we last saw a new 150cc Pulsar. And that long wait has at last come to an end.

After riding the AS 200 and more importantly, AS 150, it appears to have been well worth the wait. What makes the smaller AS bike unique is the fact that this is the first bike to house the new air-cooled 150cc motor, as opposed to the liquid cooled 200cc single-pot mill that we’ve been familiarised with in the NS 200 and RS 200.

Bajaj pulsar as 200
Aug 02, 2016 10:57 PM

Price: Rs. 91550| Mileage: 35-40 kmpl| Top speed: 136 kmph.

st month we had our first experience of the AS 200 and we really liked it. Essentially an 200NS under the new quarter fairing, the AS 200 turned out to be a more usable motorcycle and also better value for the same price as the naked NS. Now we’ve got our hands on the motorcycle to run the numbers as well as go for a long ride to see what’s what.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200(6)

‘_DSC2549

The Pulsar immediately feels welcoming. The riding position is comfortably upright with the legs canted slightly backwards. The overall position is comfortable for all-day riding but has a hint of sportiness to make sure the ride stays involving. I did find that the soft rider seat(the pillion seat is firmer) can get painful after a few hours in the saddle. What’s nice out on the highway is that the new screen deflects a fair bit of the wind. On most bikes wind blast only becomes a hassle above 120kmph, which is just about the maximum point at which the AS 200 can hold speeds with reasonable comfort. Vibrations are minimal at the bars and while they do creep in at the pegs and seat at high revs, they don’t get overwhelming. High speed cruising is not only possible but quite comfortable.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200(5)

What lets the AS 200 down, and we mentioned this earlier as well, is the finish quality. These are different motorcycles from the ones we rode earlier but they still have haphazard and unmatched gaps on the handlebar where the mirrors, levers and grips are attached. The same goes with the body work. Uneven, sometimes even inexplicable(there’s a gaping space between the plastic body work and the rear seat) panel gaps are plentiful. Our test bike had done just over 1, 500km and there was already a buzz emanating from the fairing and the clutch lever also tended to vibrate when left untouched. Ironically the chassis and the engine feel solid but these issues generate a sensation of fragility – they make the bike feel older than it is.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200(4)

The engine is the same three spark 199.5cc liquid cooled single from the 200NS and it remains a revvy and eager motor. 23.5PS and 18.3Nm make for entertaining performance. 0-60kmph comes up in just under 5 seconds and we recorded a true top speed of 127kmph. Given enough space, the bike should go a little further, around 140kmph. We did manage to see a mild downhill assisted 150kmph on the dials but there’s also speedo error to factor in. All told, this is a brisk motorcycle. On the highway, we managed to squeeze out 42.3kmpl at a steady 70kmph in sixth. This is about 2kmpl higher than the NS, thanks to the aerodynamic advantage. Overall efficiency stands at 33.75kmpl.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200(7)

That the Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 is a stable and planted motorcycle was apparent on the smooth roads of Lavassa where we first rode it. But now we’ve seen a different dimension to the AS – it handles poor and broken roads surprisingly well. The suspension setup is plush, if a little on the firm side and it absorbs bumps and ruts confidently. Good roads or bad, the Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 can carry some serious speeds. In fact, if this was my daily ride, the only thing that might make me back off on poor roads would be the possibility of the plastics working loose. Another example of the excellent mechanicals being let down by the quality of finish.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200

Bajaj Pulsar AS200(2)

Given the on-road price of Rs 1.05 lakh in Mumbai, the AS 200 makes for phenomenal value. As a value for money touring tool, nothing comes close. Even riding at night is a pleasure thanks to the projector headlamp that its more expensive rivals from Hero and Honda don’t offer. The only caveat is that you’re going to have to live with the iffy build quality and rattles. If you’re okay with that, the AS 200 will make for a happy riding companion.

And so, the Pulsar AS series can’t really be termed adventure bikes but then maybe they’re more affordable touring motorcycles.

The telescopic front suspension and the rear monoshocks do their job well to absorb rough roads and the tyres offer good grip. The suspension has been tuned for a softer setup on the AS 150 for city road conditions. On the AS 200, though the ride is stiffer and therefore quite sporty. Given these bikes don’t have the tall stance of a regular adventure bike, the AS offers a comfortable and easy riding position. The new perimeter frame keeps the body balanced, dipping in and out of corners with fairly good ease. Brakes do work fairly well but you did wish ABS was offered at least as an option on the AS 200. But hang in there, Bajaj has hinted at a more powerful, fully-loaded adventure bike is on its way. I suggest this for anyone.

Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 herodude of rode....
Jul 29, 2016 12:48 PM

The AS tagline stands for Adventure Sports, now let's get on to know about the Pulsar 200AS and whether it truly stands for it's "Adventure Sports" tagline. On the whole the Pulsar 200AS is a very likable machine for those who are looking for an all rounder motorcycle and it sure is going to boost sales numbers. It isn't exactly what it's tagline says, but still it doesn’t say NO for any kind of road conditions. So going by the tagline, you might expect this bike to have a 19" spoke wheel at the front, long travel suspension with dual purpose tyres and so on which a typical adventure motorcycle looks like. But no, this bike is as we said above, is noting but a 200NS with some cosmetic changes. The 200AS gets half fairing with a single projector headlight and a reflector headlight integrated in one unit with their conventional pilot lights. The headlights look neat and appealing as well. The fairing looks neat and so neat that we personally liked the bike's design a lot. Apart from the headlights and fairing, the bike also gets a windshield to help you at the highways, slicing the winds that hit you directly while riding on the highways. The handlebars are slightly higher on the AS as compared to the NS. Now moving to the rear end, the bike now gets an extended rear fender which might look odd for some but again it's there for a purpose and that is to stop the mud being splashed all over. Except these changes, the rest of the design is same as NS.

There are some bits like panel gaps which look a little odd, but other than that there's nothing that makes the bike feel out of place and the bike looks really good from almost all the angles, though it looks like NS from some angles. The AS is available in three colours, Blue, Red and Black. The colours too are attractive on the 200AS, main reason being that these don't have those flashy stickers like that of NS/RS and guess that's what makes it look great. The 200AS gets the same instrument cluster as the 200NS but now placed a little further, that's on the fairing. The instrument cluster is a three part, with the analogue tachometer and fuel gauge at the center, the tell-tail and warning lights taking the left side and the right consists of the speed, trip meter, time and so on. The instrument cluster is neat and easily readable. A gear shift indicator should had been there. The switchgears on the other hand are made of good quality as that of the NS.It get better part like it Those who thought that the front two shock absorbers of your bike were simply two piston springs, then you are simply wrong. Yes, there is a piston and there is a spring, but the spring is not powerful enough to take the entire front end load of the bike during an uneven surface. Hence for that reason the front forks of the bike are filled with a highly viscous liquid, Fork Oil.Today bikes are getting faster and more powerful by the day. Travelling at scorching speeds is the new way to travel for many. The roads becoming smoother and wider has allowed for quicker travel. But we know that staying in a country like India, however wide the roads get and the smoother it is, one can never know what might jump out in front of you out of a sudden.that is why is got supreme nanomate technology of disc brake When the bike has to be stopped, the brake level is pulled like a pump applying pressure. This pushes in the oil inside which in turn applies pressure on the calipers and pads and they create friction with the disc causing the bike to either slow down or stop. Now the bite of the calipers on the disc depends on the brake pads as to how big they are and how much of area of contact does it cause. To clear this, one can check out superbikes who have dual discs and something called a “four pot” caliper. This is simply to increase the contact area to increase the stopping power.

Now the way disc brakes work is rather quite awesome. The disc is fit right on the wheel, and there are pads on both sides of it mounted to contact the disc when the pressure is applied. This system is connected via a line of thick pipe which contains a viscous liquid as we popularly know is brake oil. This oil is connected to a highly sensitive pump which has a reservoir between the pipe and the pump. The pump is nothing but the brake pedal.Yeah here we are, so finally let's get on the bike and see how the bike performs in real life conditions. Thumb start the engine and you hear the sweet sound from the engine. The engine which is powered by the same engine as that of 200NS, 199.5cc single-cylinder that churns out 23.5 Bhp of power at 9500 rpm and 18.3 Nm at 8000 rpm of torque. The fuel is injected via the carburetor and uses the same triple spark technology. The engine and gear shifts are both smooth. The bike is quick from 0-100, similar to that of NS, though we did not record the timings and the top end is 136 km/h.At last is most likeable and will be the first choice of youngsters

thanks for review . please commnent and also rate this wheather this is usefull to you or not

Pulsar fairing merges perfectly in the existing design and also gets a single-lens projector headlamp for the low-beam. The AS 200 also gets a taller profile while the conventional mudguard has increased the length marginally.

Despite the name, the Bajaj Pulsar AS200 isn’t really an adventure tourer in the sense of long travel suspension, vestigial(if not full-on) off-road ability etc. In that sense, it’s barely more than a re-skinned 200NS.

Review of bajaj
Jul 22, 2016 11:18 PM

Change can as much be a quiet revolution as a tumultuous upheaval. The Pulsars have been an uncanny mix of both. The Pulsar series of motorcycles from Bajaj have been beacons of change, the original Classic marking the beginning of an era of motorcycles in India that stands unparalleled by any other two-wheeler manufacturer. They brought performance, street-fighter looks and the concept of evolving series production to 4-stroke engine motorcycles. They proved that form was as important as function for the Indian biker and thereon, no bike manufacturer could ignore the visual statement its product displayed.

The 200NS has been an object of intense and passionate speculation ever since its first pics were caught on camera during testing on public roads and circulated on the net. Like its predecessors carrying the same brand name, the 200NS to is a path breaker and how! It’s an evolution of a revolution from a decade ago, a product that steps up the ante for its own genre and other contemporaries to boot. It stands quite a few notches above any and every motorcycle that carried the Pulsar name till now. Take a look at a brief chronological story of the evolution of the Pulsars over the last ten years, check out the stages of change and then read the review of the latest entrant which by far is the brightest amongst all yet.

Finally after 10 years we have an all new Bajaj Pulsar, and thanks to its great looks it has made quite an impression from the launch day. We got some hands-on time at Bajaj’s test track near Pune to test out if the bike is as good to ride as it looks. Short answer - yes. The crouched stance, broad fuel tank and the high tail light add to the sporty look of the bike. It carries quite a few signature Pulsar styling elements with a whole lot of new ones and somehow it all fits very well together. What gets us bummed is the grim fact that this bike will get a ‘saree guard’ and a number plate smacked right on top of that beautiful headlight.

Excellent combination of power,design,performance
Jul 16, 2016 06:56 PM

After the fabolous design and a bigger engine of "NS200", the company has launched 2 new bikes to continue their 200cc engine line up. One of it is as "AS 200" . Well straight to design, it is definitely good looking, as lion's beefed up muscles when looking sideways in addition with lion's eyes like fog lights(parking lights). Where some might say its not as demon looking as NS200, well yes but still its more than that when compared to NS200.

AS200 is in different class, it has a good amount of power(23.5Hp), its more refined than NS200 as it is little bit faster than NS200 at top speeds. The brakes are really good especially the front which works as'ABS' although it doesn't have one.

But there are some downsides, for example it's sit height is higher than NS200 which cause difficulties for shorter and new riders. It also has a attachment(body part) to the fuel tank which holds the head lights, but this cause difficulties to the riders as this blocks the view of the front ground. It also has a larger turn radius.

The downsides can only be downsides for beginners. Still its a good experience to drive for beginners too.

When you start feeling this bike you will start enjoying all of the goods and bads.
