She was happy, they were getting rid of unwanted junk to make some space in house. Their 3 years old doesn’t play with them anymore. She has got select toys she likes to keep herself busy with. She keeps getting new ones too. “It’s too much” Suma had said one day. Then she spotted pavement construction activity near the house where children accompanied their parents who worked as daily wage labourers. The children didn’t attend school. All they did was play all day among cement, sandstone & bricks. They ran, napped, ate, made merry. All under the sun. And shade. Ravi drove to the location where the construction was on. He spotted one child. He took out a bag and handed it over to him when soon his parents took charge and started showing him different toys Ravi had brought. But Suma had “promised” a group of children would be there. As soon as Ravi was about to drive off, he spotted five more at some 100 mts. They were chasing a dog away, like a pack themselves. Ravi took the bags and walked towards them. Bags three. Monsters five. What happened soon after was no less than a riot. Laughs, joys, thrills. Shrills. Pushing, pulling, snatching. Screaming. Children were absorbed as if no World surrounds them. They want the best. The best of that moment. The best of those toys. Ravi looked back and experienced bliss in that time. In the faces of children, who people say are innocent like God. “JUNK”, Ravi thought as he was driving away. One gets rid of it, other battles over it. It gives that. JOY. Read More

I am your follower and have been attending your seminars in various parts of the country. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to speak here. Baba Ji, I am not doing good in business these days. There are huge losses and there is nothing which is like before. Please help. Nirmal Baba: Brother, I am seeing a cassette (What?? Which era is Baba living in?). Have you bought a new one? Man: (after some thinking) Oh, Baba. Yes, I went to a shrine a few days back and a vendor outside was playing it (not cassette!!). I liked the Holy lyrics too much but did not buy, though I wanted to. Baba: Go there today again, and buy that. Kripa Aane lagegi??? A Woman: Baba! I have seen you a lot on TV and I am privileged to appear here today. Baba Ji, my husband is not doing well in his business these days. We are devastated. Baba: Dear Sister, (his eyes looking into infinite universe) I am seeing Pears Soap? What’s that. Woman: Pears?? Ah, Peearss! Baba, we used to use it earlier, but now we use ___. We don’t have money enough to buy that. Baba: Start Pears again… Woman: (Interrupting) But Baba Ji we can’t afford that. Baba: You must have a big heart if you want to succeed. That’s why you are suffering. Start using it again and you will see kripa aane lagegi. And do donate 10 % of your incomes. (He don’t say it, but means 10 % be donated to his trust, not for community service)!! A Woman: Babaji, greetings. I am honored to stand in front of you with my troubles. Babaji, My husband is not well and that’s why our work is suffering. He is unable to concentrate on work & we are under debt because his medical bills are too much too. Baba: (confused look) which deity do you worship? Woman : Vaishno Devi Baba: But you haven’t been there in a long time?? Woman: Baba Ji, now our finances don’t allow us to travel long distance. I have come here with lot of hope. Baba: I am seeing a silk saree too. Whats that? Woman: (Still figuring out) Oh, I went with my sister in law for her wedding shopping some time back. I saw a silk saree and wanted to buy, but you know…(looking helpless) Baba: Go to Vaishno Devi soon, and buy that saree too. Do keep donating 10 % of your incomes. Tabhi Kripa hogi. A man: Babaji, I started a business and incurred heavy loss. Now, I have to do a job, pay back loans, take care of household etc. It’s very difficult to make the two ends meet. I am under tremendous stress. Baba: Have you ever kept aside 10 % or any part of your earnings for donations/charity. Man: No Baba: I am seeing a Coca Cola. What’s that?? Man: Oh yes! I went to the market and it was scorching heat. I wanted to have a coke, but decided not to waste money instead. Baba: If you guys will think just too small, what will you reap? Have chilled coke today, visit Sai Baba’s shrine in Shirdi, and do donate. Kripa zaroor hogi. My Take : Sow good to reap good is what he conveys. He also asks to keep a certain % for charity. His words are kind, but his interpretations are selfish. I believe always do good but not that you will buy silk saree if you are unable to feed your children properly. A coke or Pears soap can’t save your day. Any amount 2%, 5% or 10% you keep aside for good deeds should be a mix of donations at shrines (we do donate, and they also do community services like langar/donating quilts to poor etc.) & community service like feeding the poor, education/adopting the education of a child, senior citizen home/orphanages or paying someone poor’s medical bills. You may also consider donating to a poor girl’s marriage. This doesn’t mean you have to bear expenses for an open Heart surgery or a whole kanyadaan. Any help (big or small, full or part) is good for these people. Such options are available these days through NGOs also. But do check the authenticity beforehand. Do not give all to one trust/NGO or a Baba, because you don’t know how they are going to utilize it. You are a better Judge. Take your call & Take care. Anshuman Maini Read More

Achcha lagta hai!

“Take a leave tomorrow.” Said my colleague Sandeep. “Why?” I asked. “Ok, then come late to the office tomorrow.” “There is no need. I will see when I get free from there and come accordingly.” Sandeep gave me a confused and little bit... “Take a leave tomorrow.” Said my colleague Sandeep. “Why?” I asked. “Ok, then come late to the office tomorrow.” “There is no need. I will see when I get free from there and come accordingly.” Sandeep gave me a confused and little bit worried look. “nahin yaar, weakness hoti hai.” “WHAT?” “NAHIN HOTI” Sandeep’s friend’s father’s diabetic foot had to be amputated and 8 units of blood were required for the procedure. So the friend contacted Sandeep and he circulated in the office. I agreed to go and Sandeep didn’t. I had to go for the replacement donation because the hospital wouldn’t release the blood units and asked the family members to arrange for the replacement units. This was my third attempt at blood donation. On previous two occasions I had donated blood at voluntary blood donation camps. On another occasion I donated blood platelets too once. This is not just about Sandeep. Most of us dread to the very idea of donating blood. All I would like to say is “Achcha lagta hai. KOI kamzori NAHIN hoti.” Now some facts:- ·Blood can not be manufactured. It can come from donation only. ·Every year 4 crore units are required (in India) of which only 40 lakh are available. Rest all comes from replacement donation. Many people die due to lack of blood. ·Any fit person between 18-60 years of age can donate. ·Thalassemia patients need blood all through life. Many units are required for accident victims, burn, cancer, transplant patients & Heart Surgeries. ·One unit of blood donated can help save three lives. The blood bank Segregates blood into three components i.e. platelets, plasma & red blood cells (actual blood). These are then infused into three different persons. ·“O” blood group & “AB” Plasma can be given to anybody and are always short in supply. One can donate blood every 3 months, Platelets every week and blood plasma every 48 hours.Blood donation takes 15-20 minutes and platelet and plasma donation an hour or more. Some blood donating idead: ·Be a regular donor, donate every 3 months. ·Donate on your birthday or any special occasion in family. ·Donate on your wedding anniversary with your spouse too. ·Spread the general awareness among people ·Take other people along with you to blood bank when you go. ·If you catch a sight of voluntary donation camp, just go for it. So feel very, very proud of yourself and donate blood. I am sure you will feel good. Read More
