Love Stories are a treat to watch

Yesterday, I watched a bengali movie, irrespective of me being a bengali, I'm a plain zero in Bangla, but like telugu and tamil, I like watching them. Atleast they've some sense than our regular bollywood masala fare, which has no meaning. The move name was SATHI,*ing Jeet and Priyanka Triwedi. A complete musical love story. A story of love and its sacrifices, a youth takes to give his love, a real chance of happiness. The story started with a young boy, coming from Vizag, by train, meets a musical group, and shares his story from village to Kolkata and from Kolkata to Vizag and to jail. His name is Bijoy, a village boy who got aplauded by a music director, comes to Kolkata to earn a name for himself as a singer. But his bad luck followed him, and he reaches Kolkata on that man's funeral. He gets to live in Kolkata, helped by a drinker named Keshtoda, and soon he started selling LIC. A girl named Sonali, hears his voice from a locality near his. She fell flat for the voice. But to both's bad luck, whenever they met, Bijoy is caught doing either fighting or caught for the wrong reason, so she hates him. She loves Bijoy for his voice without recognizing that he is the same person, she sees fighting. A drastic incident takes her eyes, and again Bejoy was responsible, and you have the interval. Post interval, how Bejoy helps Sonali, without her recognizing that she hates the guy. He sacrifices his singing career, his kidney to earn her eyes and a nice singing careers. In the return way from Vizag, where he went to sell his kidney, he got arrested, and was sent to five years of rigorous imprisonment. After five years, when he returned to Kolkata, Sonali is a very big star singer. He reaches the podium where she has to perform, but she didn't recognize him, and she ordered the guards to send him off by hitting badly. Inside the podium, the music group which heard Bejoy's story were singing his song. Sonali ran madly towards the stage, and when they told her the truth about Bejoy's absence for five years, Bejoy sang his song, making Sonali understand that the guy whom she hate the most is the same guy whom she loved the most and the couple unite. That's a heart touching love story. I just felt flat for the story. Whole day, I's sad for the unknown reason, but later I understood that I got the hangover of the movie. Last night, I downloaded the original tamil movie Vijay's starrer Thullada Manamum Thullam and Telugu version Nagarjuna starrer Nuvvu Vastavani. And whole night, I watched both the movie twice, especially the end scene I don't know how much time I repeated it, the main song, and the song just after interval. Songs are the life of a love story. The songs of all three versions were awesome, especially the bengali and tamil one. On the whole, after watching the movie, why can't we have a good love story today. Today, the love stories have taken a back stage, they are put in taday's movie, just to have good visuals song, and glamourous heroines showing their size zero body. We'd a tradition of love stories from start of the bollywood, but slowly they have not occured to today's filmmakers. From Raj Kapoor's time, we've Awara or Barsaat. Then we'd Rajendra Kumar, Devanand, Dilip Kumar's Love story movies. Then we got Rajesh Khanna's Love stories. Then at last we got SRK's love stories, most of them, still remembered. DDLJ remained everyone's favourite love story. Because today, we've a dearth of love stories. Probably, Aashiqui 2 was the last love story we saw. That too, 2 years before. Why can't we have love stories today. There's a hell lot of audience for a well made love story. Half percentage of our population, want to watch a love story. They want to go and see movies with their boyfriends, and watch, cry, love. Today, we have very less number of love story, that doesn't mean that we've less love today than that of 50s or 60s. We've a lot of love stories in hollywood, and that works as a counter programming for their big budgeted science fiction. And earns a hell lot of money, and costs also less. Last year, "The Fault in Our stars" cost only 10-12 mn, earned more than 300 mn worldwide. So there is a lot of people wanting to watch a good and clean love story. So, please filmmakers, give a shot. Read More

Changing India And Its views on Sprituality

"???? ??????? ????? ?????? ?????????? ????????" "GURU BRAHMA GURUR VISHNU GURURDEVON MAHESHWARA" It was a very sweat saying when it comes to teaching as well as preaching. "GURU BRAHMA GURUR VISHNU GURURDEVON MAHESHWARA" It was a very sweat saying when it comes to teaching as well as preaching. But is it the same in today's practical world? I don't think so. What do you say? Actually, I am a disciple of Anukul thakur, Satsang, and resides in Deoghar, Jharkhand. I obey what the guru has taught to some extent, and falters on the others. But last week, when our teacher came and said he has become a ritwik, and he wants some of us to join the list of disciples to earn some sprituality, to overcome the debacles in our careers. But in front of the teacher, everyone was obedient, and gave a positive nod. But as he left, they start saying they don't believe any Gurus, and they can't give the istvriti, which every thakur's disciple has to give as a token of gratitude for the thakuratva. They saqid they follow the "oh. my God" movie's philosophy, that they don't want to worship any human as God, clearly against what our ancestors say. Today is the day, when Gurus like Asharam Bapu has demolished the Guru's reputations and the belief that the people have in the Guru's, and current generation follows the same trend, and hates Gurus of today. They don’t believe them. For them, spirituality is just a waste of time and money. And somehow, they are right too. But then the problem comes, when you start facing a wave of obstacles, and you got completely in a fix, then comes the work of spirituality to calm you down and pave the way towards success. Now let’s take other Gurus, the actual gurus, who give us the knowledge. The condition is far worse here, where students treats teacher so badly, that they don’t fear them, and sometimes hits them back. Few days back, students of Satsang College, beat up their proffessors and even the dean badly, that the police had to interfere. But it’s not the fault of student completely too, they are misguided and aggressive, and their unions take advantage of that, but it is teacher’s fault too, that they risk the life of students, by not teaching in the class, and prefer coaching centres, although they get heavy salaries from the colleges, but they are humans only, and humans yearn for more and more, and no satisfaction can stop that. So, I feel the heavenly relationship like guru-shishya has been completely off-guarded in today’s situation, if there is no drona to teach, then there is no eklavya too. Read More

Love Can Be Blind In Today's World?

On last weekend, I went to watch Gunde Jaari Galanthayinde, a telugu romantic movie, although I am selective towards my choice, I went to watch it. The movie was a pleasant experience for me, but after watching the movie, I felt that can love be blind in today's practical world, where the face is the practical representation of your behavior, and no one cares far far for your heart. For those who have not watched the movie, or those who are non-Telugu, the story was about a girl Shravani, who want to fall in love with such a perfect person, who do not care about how she look, about her rich background, and the boy Karthik, who is being practical in his life, want to marry a girl of his choice, eventually falls for Shravani or Bangaram, which he calls daily, and share everything. They both bump into each other many times, rather Shravani, who actually know who is Karthik, joined the same office as his boss, but Karthik never knew that she is his Bangaram. Actually, the emotional bond is there, which is just the phone line. That bond makes the way for their love, not how they look. Can that be possible that only talking on the phone, can lead to love at this materialistic world? But you never know, it ca happen, but to a least percentage. Let's take a man perceptive, even the hero of the movie, fall for Shruthi, by her looks, in first meeting, although that lead to confusion, and his relation with Shravani, but that is what today's world is. Only if the boy likes her from her looks, than only he cares about how is the girl from heart. Even there is a misconception with boys generally, that girls with dark colours has black heart, and they don't want to get entangled with a dark-complexion girls, and above all, they want their grilfriends or wives, to make his companions jealous, not to make a mockery of himself, what a dark-complexion girl would bring to him. Let's take now the girl's perspective in today's world, they don't want to get in a relationship with a guy, who is black in color as well as thin and lean, they want a guy who is physically strong, to protect her from the odds, and handsome to be a showcase for their fellowmates. Then how can they fall for a guy in the phone, whom they haven't seen, don't know how would that guy look? Love is a feeling, but that need to be gone through the way of our eyes. So, the movie provide a hypothetical possiblity, but it is nice to see on screen. Such movies are always a treat to watch. But can that happen in reality remains a question, only if I see a real example can I believe, till that it is just a movie for me to see and watch and enjoy, and write about it. See you soon folks, and write what do you feel about it! Read More

Vivah-- An Embodiment Of Our Past Culture And Tradition

Yesterday, I was watching Vivah movie starring Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao. You know, when I started watching the movie, and as the story unfolded, although I knew the scenes by heart, I felt why was I watching it again. I remembered when I first watched it on theatre on my birthday 10th Nov, the date of its release, and just glued to the movie. The character Poonam and Prem remains with you even after you left the theatre. And to witness the same feeling again, I watched it thrice, though this time with my family, and that was the last movie I watched with my family, as we rarely have family entertainers in Bollywood, only I think Rajshri lives to their tradition, and still makes family entertainers, otherwise rest of the movie world prefer same filthy comedies, with no sense, to be watched by the multiplex audience. I just deviated from my thoughts. I was saying that both the character Prem and Poonam, both were sweet, shy and understandable to each other. But I thin both the character were just hypothetical in today's culture. Neither the boys of today, would prefer a burnt wife, and marry him when she is on the verge of dyeing, nor their is any girl like Poonam in today's world. But both boy and girl of today, want to marry to the person as depicted in Vivah. Even if today's boy run behind miniskirt girls, but they want a simple middle class girl, who can live under his command and the girls on the otherside, want a husband with lots of money, but independent, there is no intention of girls to marry in a joint family. That is my view, as I have seen with my friends, my colleagues. There is still good out in the world, but can you be the lucky one, that's the question, only God can answer. Now, lets come to the family, the Harishchandra of Vivah movie, was a real sweet father. Sunil and his wife, were sweet too. But the sweetest part was that when in today's world, the brothers fought for the property and money, they were together. Both were similar to the Hum Aapke Hain Kaun Brothers. Actually, when you watch the movie, you find the movie too close to Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, two loving brothers, one loving bhabhi. And the treatment was similar too, nearly 2/3rd of both the movie runs on love story, and sweet devar-bhabhi talks, and the last half an hour gives you a shock and the film ends on a happy note. For critics, the movie would be too sweet to swollow, but for viewers, it is the most ideal situations, a person wants. The film ran a silver jubilee in some of the single theatres, becoming a blockbuster, but earning way too low for a blockbuster. But that is todays demographics, if the movie had run this long in Mumbai or Delhi area, it would have been a guaranteed All Time Blockbuster, but since the movie ran in the easten region, where people like only masala entertainer and family entertainer, the film's collection was way off the mark. So, you know, when I watched South Indian movies especially Telugu Industry, since I reside in Bangalore now, I feel they have have a better understanding between their movies. They have films of all genres, mass masala entertainer, romantic entertainers, comedy entertainers, even adult language entertainers, and also family entertainers. Atleast todays producers of Bollywood should try to make a family entertainer, it is a low budget and less risky than over the top action movies. Read More
