Value for Money:

I was introduced to windows 8.1 when I bought an HP envy laptop, that comes with a genuine Win 8.1.I have previously used almost all versions of windows starting from windows 95.I have used Win 95, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.I am a regular windows user and have also tried out different Linux Operating systems like Ubandu 8, 9, 10 Fedora 16, 17, 18 Backtrack 4, 5, 6, Kali Linux Red Hat and Macintosh variants like OS X, Leopard etc.

And I should say the most user friendly one I have ever come across is windows 8.1.Of course its not open source and is **not as powerful** as a Linux platform could be.But the interface design of Windows 8.1 is **so elegant and touch oriented**.Many **drawbacks and bugs in Windows 8 are solved** in this updated version.Windows 8 was a nightmare, full of bugs, often crashes and compactability issues for bridged applications. But 8.1 is real awesome.

They have extended the possibilities of the **compactability tool** which now lets you run older applications in older platform compact-able modes, which reduced the issues with them.Another amazing feature is that this one has **never let my system hang** on.It works smoothly and even if a high priority threads fails or becomes unresponsive the Os itself have the potential to terminate them to rescue the safe state of OS.Moreover task-manager is accessible under almost all circumstance, which makes the computer **more reliable**.Later I have updated to windows 10, but I will vote 8.1 over 10.Win 10 is more easy to use, but they have reduced the freedom to the user.I am thinking about going back to Win 8.1
