I took a service for shifting 3 split Ac's and the experience has left me disgusted with the level of unprofessionalism displayed by teh Urbanclap team. The technician and his colleague were very unprofessional. At every stage, they required supervision and had to be told to do a clean and professional job. A simple thing like cleaning the outdoor and indoor unit had to be told to them repeatedly. Even then at every stage they were trying to take shortcuts and finish the job quickly. After all this, they ran up a hefty bill of Rs 13,698/- for shifting 3 split ac's. They charged me Rs 4500/- for 6 mtrs of copper pipe whereas only about 4 mtrs was used and that too when there was no need of changing the copper tubing. The rate charged for the copper pipe was Rs 750/- per mtr whereas the market price ranges from Rs 45/- to a max of Rs 250/- per mtr. They also charged for a gas top up when in fact no gas top up was done. Above all this, when I told them that I will make the payment online, they insisted on payment in cash. When I refused to pay in cash initially, they put me on to a Mr Rishab from their cell phone. This Mr Rishab is a totally arrogant and rude person. Firstly he has no manners and does not know how to address customers. He does not even have the basic courtesy of addressing me properly but instead spoke to me as if I was some subordinate of his. He was very uncouth and shouted at me saying that I have to pay in cash. I don't understand why Urbanclap is going against the Government's directive to make all payments online. What is the ulterior motive here. No proper bills are given, no bills for materials are given, instead the person on the phone starts misbehaving and the technicians start misbehaving and creating a scene in front of the house. To avoid any embarrassment and to prevent the technicians further misbehaving I paid up the whole amount in cash. I have taken a number of services from Urbanclap over the past week and all my payments have been made online and on time. So I find this experience extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. I intend to write to the PMO, the Finance Ministry, and the Karnataka Service Tax Department against such unethical and unlawful practice.
