Completed another one from Clive Cussler’s Isaac Bell series THE RACE. This is my 3rd read of it lapsed over few months, I become a fan of this series, previous to this series I have only read 1 book of him of different series though I know Clive Cussler’s name right from the day I started reading novels seriously.
Its a story of an air race across america during 1900s, where a lady is a lead racer backed up by a wealthy newspapor baron but having a troubled past where her husband is behind her and wanted to kill her because he didnt liked her relation with another man who also is the inventor of her plane, but she only has 1 ambition – to fly in a plane. Will Isaac Bell be able to stop this maniac who is in wanted list from so long!
Again a detective story set in old era of 1900s like the other book of series, a brilliant story in which you already know the culprit, its just the brilliance of writer to hold you back for reading 400 odd pages with a fresh chase story and spiced up with multi layers of detective hunt story. And yes it also got the trains! I guess this is the best part of this writer-duo. But yes, this could be a weak book if I compare it with The wrecker. I rate 4/5.
