I saw the beautiful, profesionally done website and thought of calling on the given number for carrying out the interiors work in my apartment at Haralur road.

I spoke to the proprieter, Joyti Jalla Reddy and though language was a problem, I thought if work is good, there is no problem. I was quoted a rate based on sq ft. I conveyed that my work should be approximately 500 Sq ft, so 500* amount agreed is what I will pay every saturday in installments and balance whatever after completion of the work. This was mutually agreed on email.

I had to pay 20, 000 per week on a condition that work would get over in 5 weeks. It was decided on email that I will not pay any amount before initiating the work since I was providing all the material. Jyoti Jalla Reddy is one unique person I found has no clue of what he is doing. The first day the job started he asked for 5, 000 Rs. Though it was agreed that I will not be paying any amount before hand, I still paid him 5K because he told he has to pay his carpenters for some other work. That week ideally I should be paying him 15K then since I had already paid him 5K. He demanded 20K. I refused to pay.

The next week, he demanded for 25K. I promptly paid since I had not seen how much work is done. He told me a lot of work has been completed. He appeared too desperate to get money and carpenters were working without taking leave. I had paid him 45K by end of 2nd week. The third week he demanded for another 25K. This week hardly any work was done. I refused to pay since I am not supposed to pay him on a weekly basis but for the total sq ft. If his carpenters take 10 weeks to complete, I cannot pay him 2.5 lacs for a job which is agreed for 1 lacs.

Third week, when I said I cannot pay 25K since there was hardly any work done, he threatened me saying he will not give me carpenters to work. I paid him only 10K. I had paid him totally 55K till then. He disappeared after that and stopped receiving our calls. Not only us, he did not receive his carpenters call as well. I called two other contractors to wrap up the unfinished work and both told me that this is only 30% done. I had ended up paying Joyti Jalla Reddy for 55%(55, 000 Rs) work when it was only 30% done.

I arranged for the new contractor to work after a week who charged me a huge  amount to finish the work. I was still trying to call up Jyoti Jalla Reddy to finish the remaining work. He left it all half and disappeared. H basically ran away because he received more money from me for the completed work and there was nothing much he would get more, but work was a lot still. I went to the Haralur road police station where the inspector called him up and since it was a new number, he received. Inspector asked him to visit Haralur road police station and he said he would visit the next day. He did not turn up at all. Inspector called him from different numbers. He did not receive. Inspector then asked us to write a formal complaint against him that we were not able to do since we got held up in a number of personal issues.

His carpenters were too trying to call him for their payment. When I probed, carpenters told me that this is the first time they were working with him and that he has no office and there is no such address as that given on the website(some Uttarahalli address).

I am sure he must have fooled some other customer by now. Be very careful when using Jyoti Jalla Reddy's services( http://www.smartfix.in). There are many other professional people around.
