Total mall at Madivala is an one stop shopping mall for me and my family. Right from modern dresses to grocery, from salon to multi cuisine restaurant, everything is there. Recently a branch of Shiv Sagar chain opened there on the ground floor. Previously, the restaurant of Vasudev Adiga was there, but almost a year back it got closed. Since then, the need of a south Indian restaurant was there. Many local people, including the traffic police (Madivala Police station is nearby) and shoppers at Madivala market used to visit this place for a decent South Indian breakfast and meals. The new Shiv Sagar filled the gap.
It was quite nice to see the restaurant opening,as after shopping we also needed some tasty take away most of the time. One Sunday we opted this for take away lunch. The restaurant was full, but no queue at the counter. It is a self service restaurant. The staff members were courteous and helpful. My hubby was at the billing counter and I was waiting outside. Somebody from the restaurant politely offered me a chair, unlike most of the eateries.Hubby got the parcel within a very short time span, which indicates the service is fast. We found the parcel steaming hot and quite heavy to carry. Well, satisfied by the look.
When we opened the parcel,we found the portion size quite large. In 2 South Indian thali meals, there was food for at least 4 people. There was Rice, poori, curd, sambar, rasam, a dry veggie, beetroot and carrot gravy, curd, papad and pickle. More than enough for our requirement. The food tasted quite good, even the poori were not rubbery. The curd and pickle went well with the locally harvested rice,I am going to ask the rice brand next time I visit this place. After lunch so much food was remaining, total paisa wasool we can call it. Only the papad was not so good, burnt at sides and inferior quality. The packing was good, nothing leaked or got spoiled, even the papad remained intact.
Next time planning to try the breakfast menu. The dosas looked quite tempting. Also I would like to try the filter coffee there, the aroma is very intense and rich. I was a regular visitor of Shiv Sagar Koramangala branch. Felt happy that it came somewhat near to my place. The same quality they are maintaining, have to see till when that remains.
