I have been using A-series phones for the past 5 years and recently bought the A36. Honestly, I was hoping for a better upgrade over the previous generation. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, while an improvement over last year’s model, still lags behind other mid-range competitors in the same price bracket. Gaming performance is mediocre; I noticed frame drops and heating issues.
The battery life, despite being claimed as 5000 mAh drains faster than a 2018 phone. Another letdown is the absence of a microSD card slot, limiting storage expansion, which can be a huge problem if you like to click a lot of pictures and videos. The phone’s glossy back, while attractive, attracts fingerprints easily, requiring constant cleaning or a case. All the focus of the A36 is on the aesthetics more than actual performance.
