The Animation Allegory. Review on Roadside Romeo

The cuddlesome coo some , cutu wutu duo were relaxing in the mobile van. Of course the air conditioning turned up at the max. to take care of the heated atmosphere.

A knock on the door! And her brow shots up, “Who the hell in the world had the guts to disturb Kapoor babe in her rest time? That too when they know her accomplice at the moment is Saif Baba”??

Kareena: “Sweetu ???” and the typical look

Saif : “Yeah yeah ! jaanu I know, wait I will take care of the basket *&@#”

The door opens to reveal a much embarrassed Jugal , blame it on his colouring but red is too evident on his face!

Saif  tries to recollect the face of the green-eyed boy , but nonetheless he can feel Kapoor babe’s eyes killing him “Hey, what business do you have to go knocking in our break-time?”

Jugal stammers and can only utter a few sensible words, “Sir, new project. Walt Disney, Yash Raj, my baby” , and his eyes dance between Saif trying to peep inside the van.Of course he knows that the answer is held in those carefully chipped voices of Kapoor Babe. Out of the blue Saif is pushed aside and the Lady occupying his thoughts materializes.

“What did you just say Walt Disney , Yash Raj films or both?”

Now Jugal is a bit confident and he steps inside “Ma’m a glass of water and I relate the whole thing, this humidity in Mumbai is killing!”

With few sips of water he relates “This is going to be the first animation movie of its kind in India, and **Walt Disney is partnering with Yash Raj films to release this project**. I need you both for giving voices to our central characters **Romeo as Saif** Ji and **Kareena Ji you as her Lady love Laila**, a club dancer. But Ma’m these two are not human but a pair of dogs.”

He pauses for a reaction but he could find them listening intently. “Romeo is the Dog who ends from a castle and rich background to roadside. Therein his intelligence makes him befriend **Guru(Vrajesh Hirjee’s voice), Mini(Tanaz Currim’s voice), Interval(Suresh N Menon )** and **Hero English(Kiku Sharda).** Alongwith their support he opens up a hair cutting and styling salon, but he falls prey to the local goon **Charlie Anna (Javed Jaffrey’s voice )** and his Chamcha **Chhainu(Sanjay Mishra)**. Somehow he manages to escape but yet again he falls in love with Laila whose admired by Charlie Anna. Now he needs to save himself and his lady love from the jaws of the goon”

Kareena  speaks while Saif nods, “Sounds Good! I guess we are in and we will give the best of our shots”

Jugal winks and smiles “Ma’m we also plan to add a scene where Romeo has Laila’s name tattoed on his hand”

“Kool” Saif finally mutters, “I am ok with it, anything for my lady-love”

Jugal  carries on “You just wait and watch , it would be the first of its kind ever made in India with such a big budget, storyline and released on this scale. Its my debut direction and the story is also written by me”

Saif adds “Its great to see that Bollywood film industry is finally getting serious over Computer animation stuff. We need this kind of awareness in our industry. Till when can we last upon the tried and tested formulae. Kudos to you Jugal for thinking like this! And not to forget the fact that Walt Disney the king of animation industry is producing it with our own Yash Raj Films. Have you thought the names for screenplay, visual effects and all?

Jugal gives a smug smile as if he knew it was coming , “Of course screenplay is the responsibility of yours truly! But for **visuals I have roped Tata Elxsi**”

Kareena gushes in “Any chances for music and songs?”

“Of course ma’m, there is no life to a movie without music, **Salim-Sulaiman will provide the music** and **Kunal Ganjawala** and **Sunidhi Chauhan** are providing the vocals to the song. DJ Suketu will be roped too for a Nightclub song. In fact Saif sir will have to lend his voice too. In fact I feel all of us will be singing including me”. Jugal guffaws on his idea.

Saif smiles at the  proposal, “Jugal besides us of course the best choice you have made is Jaaved Bhai! He is the most versatile actor I have ever come across and I feel he is most apt for this role. I am sure he will add a realistic touch to the movie. As for me I assure you, I will make the dog look as real as myself.”

“So will I, the female will look complete like a night club glam doll”, she smiles coyly.

“Wow!” Jugal looks elated and confident “Lets declare to the world that Bollywood cinema is ready to take a step forward. A major step which will be a revolution in terms of technology and expertise. The first ever Animation movie of Bollywood made on such a scale”.
