The MPV shares its engine with the Renault Duster, as it features the same 1.5-litre, K9K diesel engine. Just like the Duster, the engine is available in two states of tunes - 85PS(84bhp) and 110PS(108.5bhp). The 108.5bhp variant is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, whereas the 84bhp version comes with a 5-speed transmission. Unlike the Duster, there is no petrol engine on offer with the Lodgy.

The MPV comes loaded with plenty of entertainment and comfort-enhancing features such as Media-nav system with 7-inches touchscreen, USB, Aux and Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking camera, parking sensors, 12V charging sockets and many more. The Lodgy is certainly one of the most spacious offerings at its price point. It is available in both the seven-seater and eight-seater options. Most of the equipment is borrowed from the Duster such as inside door handles, circular air vents, gear knob, AC switches, three-spoke steering etc. The centre console with chrome inserts and piano black finish and new beige coloured quilted leather upholstery add to its interior appeal. With adequate cushioning and good thigh, back and head support, the front seats feel comfortable.

The Indian-spec model is offered with dual front airbags. It also features ABS(anti-lock braking system), EBD(electronic brake-force distribution) with brake assist, side impact protection beams, engine immobilizer, cruise control with a speed limiter, three-point ELR seatbelts and various other safety features.
