Get rivetted to your seats because this movie just doesn't let its grip off you. A low budget movie, with just a set used to do the whole movie, Phone Booth is a must see for all the thriller fans. However, unlike most thrillers there are no spies here and there's no world level conspiracy involved. All it takes is a simple maniac killer who feels justified in ambushing a New York Publicist who he feels is sinning in his personal life.
The movie is all about Corin Farell playing Stu, a publicist for upcoming actors and other entertainers. Corin impresses right away from the start with his flair and slick talking as he works. He is walking on a street fixing up his appointments on his cell phone. Has an extra marital affair. Steps into a phone booth to call the girl. And BANG. Somebody on the other end of the phone asks him not to move otherwise he would be sniped. Hours later, they are still talking on the phone. The police are trying to figure it all out but are clueless until Stu uses all his mental prowess to guide the police to where the killer might be.
The drama of the movie is highly psycho-based. It is a very fast paced movie. There are hints of action every next minute, but it doesnt happen. A cleverly written story with tight direction make it a good show to watch. The prominence is on Corin Farell, who carries it off with flair. Overall a gripping movie for the thriller fans.
