With its increasing popularity, many people are making choices based on reviews found in Mouthshut. And business owners and their competitors seem to be taking advantage of it by masquerading as reviewers and trying to promote their own product or rubbish their competitors’ products. We need to get wise to these smarties . These are some of the indicators that may signify that the author is not an innocent reviewer like you, me or rohitshiva(who gave me a VU for a very short review):

1.The reviewer may have written just a single review.

2.The review is likely to be highly flattering or extremely critical.

3.Opinions are not justified by facts

4.Several reviews by several reviewers on the same product with similar nuances of language.(A single business owner giving all it takes to make a quick buck.)

These are the ones I can think of. Perhaps there are several more. Human behavior experts(aren’t we all?) are invited to share their valuable insights.
