When I completed college, I believed the academic projects I had worked on would be enough to step into the data field. Once I entered Meritshot, I Quickly understood that professional data problems look very different often messy, inconsistent, and far from the clean datasets we use in classrooms.
The program helped me build practical skills through real exercises like structuring databases, refining raw datasets, developing ETL workflows, and running them on platforms such as AWS Glue and BigQuery. The guidance sessions were especially valuable they encouraged me to figure out solutions instead of depending on shortcuts. By the end, I wasn't just experimenting with pipelines but confidently creating end-to-end workflows, gaining the kind of readiness that beginners truly need for the industry
