Massanjore Dam also known as Canada Dam, was commissioned in 1955. It was formally inaugurated by Lester B. Pearson foreign minister of Canada.
Massanjore Dam is a hydropower generated Dam over Mayurakshi river located at 30km distance from Dumka capital of Jharkhand state.And also near to West Bengal state border.
As I have spend some years in Dumka so I know this dam very well.
Here is no any security. Which means accident can occur anytime so government should take some step to cover it up.
It is located in a very good area where you can see big mountains, trees and nice place to click the picture of nature, but again there is no any safety means things. People from nearby and also National and International tourist visits the dam.
As it is located between Jharkhand and West Bengal border so many passenger also take halt here.And enjoy the beauty and nature.
But frankly speaking their is no any hotel where people can stay, there are some government rooms, but that is not available for everyone. Their are some local shops which also get close at night so basically we can say it is not safe place to stay at night
