Recently watched the movie Manjummel Boys directed by Chidambaram and I have to say, it was one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. Based on a true story, the movie follows a group of friends on a perilous rescue mission to save their friend from Guna Caves, a deep pit from where no one has ever returned alive. The movie is a perfect blend of action, friendship, and emotion. The aspect of friendship portrayed in the movie was just spectacular. The bond between the friends and their determination to save their friend was heartwarming and kept me hooked throughout the movie. The inclusion of the song Kanmani Anbodu from the movie Guna, released in 1991, added freshness and added to the emotional impact of the movie.
The music by Sushin Shyam was another important factor that elevated the movie. The background score was perfectly fitting and added to the intensity of the scenes. The song Kanmani Anbodu in the climax just created a feeling that is indescribable. It was a masterpiece in every sense. But the real stars of the movie were the actors. Each and every one of them, including Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Lal Jr., Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, Chandu Salimkumar, and Vishnu Reghu delivered stellar performances. They brought life to their characters and made the movie even more captivating.
The last 30 minutes of the movie was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I was on the edge of my seat, rooting for the Manjummel Boys to succeed in their rescue mission. The climax with the song Kanmani Anbodu just created a feeling that is hard to put into words. It was a perfect ending to an already amazing movie. I must also commend Chidambaram for his brilliant direction. He managed to bring out the best in each and every aspect of the movie and created a masterpiece that will be remembered for a long time. Manjummel Boys will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the greatest survival thrillers in Indian cinema. I have already watched this movie three times and I must admit, I am still addicted to it. The storytelling, direction, music, and performances all come together to create a masterpiece that will
stay with me forever.
