We went to Magic Holidays, Kharghar on an invite to hear their presentation.
At the beginning, they said there is no compulsion to buy.
As the presentation progressed, we realised they have few resorts of their own. By end of the presentation, we had done our calculations, that worked out to paying 4000 per night in their network hotels.
With few network hotels, we asked about RCI membership, which will be additional 90000+ pay 7000-9000 for each visit.
If we thought financially it did not make sense, they complicate it further with offseason availability for blue members(cheapest tier). Who would like to pay upfront for 25 years of holidays, and an annual charge, and then be told your membership allows you offseason holidays only. You can upgrade to season but compromise on number of nights available. This further pushes up the cost.
These sales agents discount majority amount paid and show as if this holiday is coming for peanuts. And yes, they push hard to sell the holiday on the spot(at least make credit card commitment with booking amount), maybe so you dont have time to go home, thing about it, do your mathematics. and maybe read reviews on mouthshut.com
About their gift, the salesman said there is less than 5% chance that you will get the free holiday as promised.
Be smart, do your own calculation.
One last point, the head of their sales team was polite till I did my calculations and gave facts. After that, he was the worst Sales guy I have ever seen. I will not recommend anybody to buy Magic holidays.
CONCLUSION: Book your holidays when yiu want to go, where you want to go, without being tied up with any such company. Packages from makemytrip and yatra work out cheaper.
