Koi Mil Gaya is said to be the first sci-fi indian movie with songs in it. The most hyped movie which is said to be the biggest hit of the Year . But when you read all the review here, It does not seem to be a great movie. So I decided to go and see the movie for myself and then pass the verdict.

Let me start with the story of the movie, The main character of the story are Sanjay Mehra(Rakesh Roshan), Sonia (Rekha), Rohit Mehra(Hrithik Roshan) and Nisha(Priety Zinta). So Mr. Sanjay is a scientist who is trying to contact aliens with the indigenous computer made by him. He succeeds and the aliens give him a surprise visit due to which he meets with an accident and gets killed. After meeting with the accident, Mrs. Sonia gives birth to a mentally retarded son Rohit who is a child trapped in the body of an adult. Mr. Rohit tries to learn computers using his father's computer with the help of Nisha and in that process sends signal to the aliens. Aliens gives a surprise visit to Kasuali. Now one of them is left behind (Jadoo) and then the story continues....with Government of India (LOL) trying to catch the alien and our Dear rohit hiding and saving the Alien. The movie ends with the alien going back with his grey colleagues and Rohit becoming a normal person.

After watching the movie, I was a little shocked about the treatment of the alien movie. The only innovative thing in this movie was the idea, rest of the things, like the treatment of the movie was the same as in other Hindi movies, with lots of emotions filled in. Before going on to tell what wrong with the movie, let me tell you about the things that makes this movie worthy of having a dekkho:

Hrithik Roshan: He has given one of the best performance of his whole career. He had shown that he has the capability of getting into the character and shown that he can't be written off by his critics so soon. He is brilliant in portraying a character that has grown up physically but has a mind and the heart of the child. His mischievous pranks and his innocence endear him to one and all. Hrithik is simply at his best.

Preity Zinta: Another beautiful reason to watch the movie. Preity Zinta is a delight to watch. She had retained the Dil Chahta Hai look in the movie. Although she was not given a plump role in the movie but she did her part perfectly.

The Super Six Baccha Party: The six kids in this film refresh us throughout the film. The cute look of all the kids and the special comments of Sardarji gave the movie some lighter moments. These cute and lovable brats are an essential watchout after Hrithik and Preity.

Songs: Although most of you will not agree with me but there are some hummable songs in it. I especially liked two songs.....i) Idhar Chala Mae Udhar Chala ii) Haila Haila...

Picturesque Location: Not a strong point but you know when there are less good point you have to work hard to find one. The film has a beautiful town named Kasuali (I would like to ask the director where this kasuali is). All the songs are shot at eye arresting locations, that makes them a pleasure to watch.

Hmmmm.....When the positives are very less, it becomes hard to think about them and even harder to write about them. So let me write about the things that I did not like about the movie. All these things make a mockery of the sensible people who went to watch the movie.

Papa Roshan and his computer: Seems papa roshan have spent all the money in the animation of the UFO. He was sending signals to alien on his personal computer which was having three decorative 5 1/2 inch floppy drives. This seems like an insult to all the sensible people . Does papa Roshan thinks that he can fool all with his scientific expressions.

Alien Jadoo: Well, he could be a part of the movie which could have remembered long after the movie faded from their minds but Alas...!!!. Don't know

why Papa Roshan approved such a stupid looking grey material alien. The most ugly thing in the movie ( Will the childern's like it???). The emotions of Ugly Jadoo, the hindi words Jadoo, Dhoop and the last Greeting Thank You, made him worse. Most intolerable part of the movie.

Johny Lever,Prem Chopra and Mukesh Rishi: JLever!!! Was he there to make us laugh, I would say if he did try to make us laugh, he failed miserably. The district collector and the police chief is more busy in catching the alien than maintaining the law and order.

Emotions, Tears: Oh God, will there be any hindi movie which would not try to make us cry.

Altogether, I would rate this movie as an AVERAGE movie for single viewing only. It does have some great acting by Hrithik but the script and the direction goes haywire, in order to make a masala film with all the ingredients of Hindi Cinema.
