What can I say? ***Khichdi*** directed by **Aatish Kapadia** is probably the best comedy of 2010 and arguably in the top 10 comedies of the decade.

What  an endearing buffoon of a family! The empty heads of the family  Himanshu (JD Majethia), his sister (Supriya Pathak), her husband Prafull (Rajeev Mehta) who gets the dumbest ever award from me!, Jayshree  (Nimisha Vakharia) and the thankfully sane patriarch of the family  Babuji (Anang Desai) light the movie and the heart of the audience with their side-splitting, mind-cracking & back-breaking unintended  jokes. Each of them has equally strong roles and also display wonderful  performances. These are the best aspects of the movie, besides the hilarious dialogues.

Best  performance, I feel, goes to Anang Desai as the Babuji who shows amazing restraint in his expressions which is often difficult to do.

The  cool hero-heroine dances, spoof on many popular Hindi movies &  dialogues and an attractive appearance by director-choreographer Farah  Khan are the other highlights of the movie. Ofcourse, Aatish Kapadia’s  direction is tight & leaves us entertained till the end leaving  negligible gaps for boredom.

Also,  applause goes to the ‘Parminder’ family (all actors who essayed the  role of Parminder in a Punjabi family, ya everyone of them has the same  name!), especially the actors who play the role of father Parminder and  the *beti* Parminder (essayed by the very pretty Kirti Kulhari).

I don't want to reveal any one of my favorite scenes here, to spoil your surprise. Most of them are gems.

For those who probably got no *bang* watching Dabangg or felt no *jaan*  watching Anjaana/Anjaani, this could be your lucky ticket. It’s worth  your time, money or even medicine! Yes, it can be one of the best  anti-depressants released in the market today :)

Verdict – Wanna live healthy? Watch Khichdi and live long. Wanna commit suicide? Watch it and die happy :)
