My office was just next door to this KFC branch, so I am a regular visitor there. For breakfast, my all time favorite was the potato snacker and veg strips. I always found the items crispy, smoking hot and very tasty. As a working lunch I always preferred the rice bowls. Even friends and relative visiting my office would treat themselves most of the time in this outlet. My boss never used to leave the office without taking a take away meal from here. I used to treat my colleagues here after certain achievements or an unusual breakthrough in the process. Overall, KFC was not only a meeting point or take away place for me, it had much more precious memories associated with this outlet. How can I forget the day when one of my colleagues was fuming with frustration, to cool him down we dragged him here, treated him with hot and crispy chicken wings and crushers till he got settled?
All these positive experiences brought me back once more to this outlet a couple of weeks back. The parking, always full otherwise, seemed quite empty on that day. May be the sudden rain was the reason. Nearing dinner time, the restaurant looked empty, more staff than customers - that's what I felt. We wanted to order for chicken twister meal, but that was not available. We were disappointed, so finally settled down with two rocking burgers and 4 pieces of fiery grilled chicken. It was a take away, as we had a time crunch. The service was fast as usual, hubby was back very soon as I was checking how to back the car. Well, the guard didn't help us in this case, unlike before, somehow we backed the car on the busy Wipro avenue.
The shock was waiting for us when we opened the package. The burger tasted very stale. The Chinese cabbage we found were all yellow and looked like as if somebody stamped on it. The chicken piece was extremely rubbery, I never ever found this texture on KFC chicken before! The bun also seemed age old. The real jolt we got when we tasted the fiery grill chicken. Leave alone the fiery part, the chicken piece lacked salt and anything else. It tasted like any other grilled chicken available in any xyz restaurant, say roadside establishments! We were severely disappointed. The time was already 11 at night, so calling the store and telling them what exactly I feel about the food was not possible, either.
Never ever I am going back to this store. That's the best way to keep my sweet memories intact. I have found one more outlet near my place which serves 10 times better food, service is super fast and very polite and helpful people are ready to help us there. The way the quality deteriorated in E city branch, I don't prefer to give it one more try in future.
