Kapere is a shareware product that is like a swiss army knife. It's a Download Manager, FTP Client, Website Grabber, Newsgroup Reader, Ad Blocker and Popup Stopper with an Outlook-type interface. The Download Manager part works pretty good and supports splitting the download into smaller pieces. The FTP Client part works well and displays the FTP site as a directory tree. The Newsgroup Reader part of it needs some work on its GUI. The Ad Blocker part of it needs improving (more websites need to be added into the list). The Popup Stopper part of it needs to have more window sizes added to be blocked. What I like is that the company, Akretio, has set up a way for you to get the Registered Version for free (Go over to the homepage and click on FREE License, to be able to learn how to get your own).
