Friends, I am a resident of Kanpur.I live in the area of Lal bangla in which is connected by highway.Kanpur Airport here at about 10 KM away.And from mid city and Kanpur central Railway station its about 20 km away.Kanpur Airport is designed by Indian Air force in 1970.Some time ago regular flight from this airport for every major metropolis.But today mostly flights are closed for security reason and runway because few year ago one air India flight land here and don't stop in safe area. But we heard soon its is planning to upgrade for all big flight and aircraft landing.
Security-Here some policemen deployed inside the terminal while the safety.There are a one terminal of the airport with normal safety features including a modern handling system.
Infrastructure/facilities- The infrastructure of chakeri Airport was very old. But the planning is built new terminal for Kanpur airport which is made in 50 acre and soon a big parking facilities also . There are one canteen for lunch and breakfast.
Taxi-Kanpur Airport is connected all major area of Kanpur by mini bus and rented taxi also available but not more there are few taxi available
