I was looking for an affordable yet efficient bike. Finally a second hand CD 100 suited my needs and budget. It was a 1987 model and had clocked 32000 kilometers. Was a well maintained one, So had nothing to pick about. Its been 8 years since I purchased and have travelled thousands of kilometers with very less problems. The roads in Coorg where I live requires a SUV with a 4wd, but I had to live with this one. I have used it as a commuter to my college, then for office in Bangalore, used it for weekend getaways for around 250kms at a stretch, and YES!! she has been with me like a loved one. I never had problems with mileage, performance (for my requirement) and reliability. Whenever she had a puncture, there was a tyre mechanic closeby!!! One thing however bothered me were the poor electricals. The battery has been replaced twice and all the circuit had to be changed. It has aged gracefully and Iam proud to own it. Im planning to buy a Pulsar DTSI sometime soon.. But will never part with my original bike. She will go back to Coorg, while my DTSI will look after me here!!!!
Pros : Affordibility, efficiency, reliability
Cons: Poor electricals
