I have visited the destination several times, and its one of my favorite because of its serenity. I believe its one of the cleanest city in India. It feels great to walk on the road along the sea side and spend time watching the sunset. One can even go for a ferry ride.
Earlier there were no good hotels here, but in the last few years, the city has got some good hotels, shopping malls and restaurant in the main town. I suggest one can visit the destination on week ends for a short vacation.
There is frequent bus service( AC and non AC) from Esplanade bus stand in kolkata.
