I was recently travelling from Bangalore to Mangalore during the Christmas vacation for 3 nights. Prior to travel had made arrangement for hotel stay. Since I was looking for a vacation, I chose Taj Gateway for stay - it being the only 4 star hotel in the area.
Ambience in the room is good and rooms are well equipped. Good and quick room service.
However, the property is quite small compared to my general notion of Taj property.
I was staying in the third floor and was expecting a good view, which alas was no where around. Also during the day time, the lobby area on the third floor and the parking lot had really foul smell, not sure is bad smell is a regular feature as the hotel is on the port road.
Also the lunch buffet of INR 650/- is not at all worth for the vegetarians.
