Ezi Drive is one of the foremost companies that offered people with an alternative of using drivers for 4 hours instead of paying for them on a monthly basis. The company does have that option of course but it is quite expensive.
I am not going down that road here but speaking about the four hourly drivers that they have on their roster. What I am not too sure about is whether they check out the drivers and whether they are rash or not. I have been using their services for quite some time now but I must say that they have to up their game if they want to remain the top most providers of value added services of drivers and cabs on hire.
They have also increased their rates again at INR 300 for 4 hours and 75 for an additional hour. This does get rather expensive especially if the customer has a recurring booking on a daily/weekly basis. They do provide a valuable option – if you are not satisfied with the driver deduct INR 100 from the bill. I am not too sure how many people really do that and if the driver is argumentative, what then?
From the standpoint here, I suggest that they need to improve the quality of the drivers – get them to learn the basics of the profession. Opening and closing the door of customers, helping the customer if required especially if the person is elderly/or needs assistance, would be an additional advantage. No one expects them to stand up when a customer arrives!
Another most important feature is to ensure that the drivers MUST take the keys out of the engine when they are out of the vehicle. Most of them never do – and I am talking about the ones who are good as well. That is why it is important for the company Ezi Drive to ensure that their drivers go through a rigorous test in case of an accident.
Their website claims that they are not liable for any damages caused while employing the services of the driver. They also claim that they follow due diligence and a vetting process, which may be true about the licenses etc. I think a dose of etiquette and conducting impromptu checks of the drivers occasionally would stand the company in good stead.
