This post should not be treated as a review of the Album but more of a " You gotta listen to the album..." sort of post.
I remember some earlier review of this album where someone did like Emotional Atyaachar to which I think our very own Jams(Javed) found it out of place. Yup to me as well the song or someone who liked it seemed outta wack.
I haven't watched the film but the album rocks! I won't review the songs as I don't think I am competent but to say the least the album is a whole lot of fun.
The Album is "different", it's "refreshing" and sounds very "wacky and weird" yet serves as an excellent choice when your travelling or going for your long walks.
Why Amit Trivedi- The first time I heard about this dude was from the film Aamir. When I heard the Song "Ghoomiyo" I kinda thought at first that it's Rehman as it sounded a little like his music. But probably the most popular tune today from that album is "Ek maula" popularised by NDTV which used it during the 26/11 attack
Songs that I religiously hear
Emotional Att...- Eveyone has heard it now. And yeah it's a fun song. It's got funny elements to it with the "shaadi ka band" thrown in. In short it's fun and crazy but a neat composition. The singer too does a good job to bring the wacky element
If you didn't like the sound it during the promos and then Rock version will surely get you started. The Rock Version again is fun! Period. Dare I say that if you don't like this then you've got poor choice :)
Nayan Tarse - This one is the best of them. Got a great rock groove with element of metal leading to the chorus. Works well as a song for Dev or Devdas longing for his love. Behind with a nice slow groove but the best part is the way the song ends where the rock element becomes more prominent. Listen to it... it's surely get your head moving
Duniya - Another song which I'm guessing is used in the background. Again a nice pace and groove to the song.
Pardesi - This one is sort of punjabi hip hop kinda no. nothing exceptional about it but nice little song that works wells when your driving.
The only problem- The Sound quality - Okay not quality as in download,CD/mpr3 player problems. The recording of the song seems as if it's a little outdated. When we heard the music Rehman or any of Shan-Eh-Loy compositions there is certain strong quality to how the music sounds. Maybe that's missing in this. In doesn't matter if you have a great system or player as I guess it would sound the same.
Don't think would wanna write more as I said this ain't a review but more of - "Dude you gotta listen to it. It's fun, wacky and weird"
