Why is this review in this category? I searched long and hard for "socks" in various categories but just couldnt find it. While this category is not exactly appropriate, as your reach the end of the review you might agree that the category might apply.
Bought three pairs of socks from Spencer’s, Indiranagar, Bangalore. They were priced at just Rs.100 for 3. I went for it. After all, they were being sold at Spencer’s.
I wore a pair one day and by evening discovered that this was not a pair of socks but a tourniquet - generally used to tie up the leg in the case of a snakebite - to prevent the poison from getting to the heart. The elastic was so tight and vicious, that both my legs went asleep.
Readers may be eager to know the brand of these socks sold by Spencers. Alas I have thrown away the tag, never in my wildest dreams imagining that tourniquets would masquerade as socks. But if its any help I can give some pointers. There were two batches of socks. I think both were priced at Rs.100/- for three. But the ones I bought had a wonderful description of how the manufacturers had used the latest technology to bring out a wonderful product. The other one only had the brand name. At least they were decent enough not to talk about latest technology and stuff.
Though I would not recommend these socks for normal use, if you happen to live in places frequented by snakes, I think this would be a good buy. Or if you want to entertain your colleagues by dancing on numb feet, go for it.
