I am sharing my distressing and annoying experience with Club Resorto Vacations Pvt. Ltd.
On June 23, 2024, I received an unsolicited call from Club Resorto (caller identified herself as Jenny M). She informed that they are offering me a free gift voucher of 2N/3D holiday package for 2 adults and 2 children at a premium Hotel, and movie tickets for a couple as part of a car purchase promotion. She repeatedly called, reminding me to collect the gift voucher from the hotel "Four Points by Sheraton", Infopark Kochi Phase 1 Campus, Infopark P.O, Kakkanad, Kochi, Kerala 682042.
Despite initial reservations, I visited the hotel where I was met by their sales agent, Mr. Ravi Prajapati. Upon enquiry he mentioned that they got my contact from the car dealership where I made a recent purchase and that they have a tie-up with them. He then presented the Club Resorto packages. He made the packages sound incredibly appealing and added that I could cancel my membership anytime by raising a request through email and they would provide me with a full refund with no deductions. He also introduced me to Mr. Israr Ahammed, his manager who emphasized that the offer was only available that day. Under pressure and misled by their persuasive tactics, I paid Rs.1, 62, 000/- and was compelled to sign a form.
After purchasing the package and reaching home, I went through the said form and was stunned to see an entirely different set of terms and conditions to the ones the sales agent mentioned. I immediately called the agent to clear the confusion and I was told that the terms and conditions mentioned in the form does not apply to my package and that, my package details will be emailed by the next day. I became suspicious and researched Club Resorto online, discovering numerous negative reviews and complaints. Their positive reviews seemed fake and fabricated. They seemed to use luxurious venues to lure people and employ high-pressure sales tactics to trap them into purchasing expensive packages without adequate time to think or consult others.
When I received their email with Package details (CRHL020723-4967) on 24 Jun 2024, most of the offers the sales agent promised to me were missing. I realized that it is not a wise decision to associate with Club Resorto anymore. I emailed my decision to cancel the package on 27 Jun 2024. However, the next day they rejected my cancellation request. To follow up, I also mailed them a written request which was also rejected without any justifiable reason. I kept following up with them over emails/calls for the refund which they denied repeatedly. The experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.
Seeing no resolution in sight I sent them a legal notice. In response they asked for a discussion and I shared my availability. However, they never bothered to call. Six months has passed and there is no definitive response from them regarding the package cancellation and refund. It has become pretty clear to me that they do not intend to cancel the membership and refund the amount.
