Akbarshaikh: Give credit where credit is
rightfully due! Every law enforcement agency has a list of failures as well as
successes! And every law enforcement agency has a representation of
"rogue" cops; some to a greater or lesser degree than others. This
includes the legendary FBI, Scotland Yard, as well as our own CBI. The single
most distinctive quality that sets these "greats" apart from police
agencies of smaller jurisdictions is WORK ETHICS: An amalgamation of the
recruitment standards, quality of training, magnitude and variety of field
experience, relative autonomy in conducting investigations, tremendous
investigatory resources and tools on hand, personal integrity and exemplary
professionalism. Let's face it: they're the best we have by any standard - AND
MOST WORTHY OF OUR TRUST! Why? Because they earned it! They’ve certainly lived up to a higher standard of
public expectations so far. Or perhaps you’d rather have the likes of the

)? You cannot let loose wide "haymakers" if you intend zeroing in on what one might consider isolated, infrequent exceptions to their overall
track record. Consider the fallacy in
this line of logic: “*Cops are generally not trustworthy people; therefore
untrustworthy people are generally cops*”. Get my drift?
