I have been a customer with bigbasket for over six months. Their handling of frozen food products is extremely poor. Ice cream or kulfi comes completely thawed out and in fact dripping from the box. Frozen non-veg items is also delivered completely thawed out and mushy. At times it stinks.
They are a health hazard. Ask the delivery boy and the standard reply is that the freezer is not working on the delivery van. I have complained innumerable times and every time I get a prepared reply of thing being improved. Well for over six months they haven't improved and when this fact is pointed out they come back with a reply that they sometimes slip up.
Slip-ups are ok if it happens once or twice, but repeated offences only indicates callousness. I did the mistake of accepting one such thawed out non-veg product and consumed it. The next day I was down with salmonella poisoning. I was sick for over a week. I had two options to deal with them. One was to go to the consumer forum and waste my time for the next 8 months or a year or simply give them a go by. I opted for the second option. By the way my billing with them during the last six months was close to a lac of rupees. If regular customer are treated with such callousness, then I can imagine the service that people who do not frequent them get.
