AGV and Europe. Review on AVG Virus Scan

I like to read reviews on some product if I seriously consider using the product in question. And in this case, the product worth considering is AGV. The reason for this, at least in my experience, is that AGV does not take up so much of the system's resources; it does not slow down my computer. This is not the case with McAfee and Norton's AV products. McAfee and Norton might be good in detecting all viruses but not good when it comes down to run without slowing down the system.

Until now I had used McAfee VirusScan Pro, paid too much money for it, but will not use it anymore. Why? Simply because my system was greatly slowed down. (I use Windows 2000 Professional SP 3, AMD Atahlon XP 1600+, about 400 MB RAM). It was quite a surprise when I started to use AGV. No more slow-downs!

However, the money is not issue. I have no objection to pay for a good product, and I would gladly do it. I would not choose AGV because it is just free but because it would be a good product.

I do not yet know how good AGV is in virus detection. I have downloaded the product some few days ago. The reason for writing this ''review'' is to ask experienced users who prefer AGV about two things:

1) What do you think about reviews located at the following URL?

Especially, what do you think about the first two negative reviews? Maybe they are correct but that they only apply for the older version? What is your opinion?

2) Some reviews, as the second one of the above URL, say that AGV Free Edition is not available for most users from European countries, i.e. not available for European countries outside UK. However, I am from Norway and have downloaded AGV without trouble. I have downloaded from AGV’s official site ( http://www.grisoft.com) informing them that I am from Norway. But there were no problems in downloading AGV and running it.
