Everybody has waited for the I Phone and so did I. Airtel and Vodafone initially came out with advertisements announcing the launch. The excitement was building and plans were made to buy a piece. Initially conversion of the $200 into INR kept me charged.
However I did think it would be more than the dollar conversion. The wait kept going for couple of months. I already made promises of give away my present phone off for free. I kept tracking the TRAI decisions about 3G. Though the TRAI ruled out the option, I kept to my optimism about the device. The launched happened and launched my disappointment, since the phones were priced 32k and 36k. Though there are flaws on the device and is over hyped. It still kept my interest on it.
The phones display and the options of music and the screen are seriously superb. The function of the operating the device without a stylus is very convenient, though the it has got its flaws. The camera is really low in pixel quantity but I always wondered why do we have cameras on phones (when peoples privacy becomes public through MMS & most of the companies do not encourage camera phones due to security policies). I dont send messages to multiple people so it does nt really matter if the option is missing here. The battrey time is not great. I always detested carrying different devices for my daily use.
My music I never leave behind and I had to carry my MP3 player and the phone and sometimes I missed my calls, other music phones did not strike a cord with me because Nokia service centers demanded me to take a days off from work because of the lousy customer support and the never ending queues, Sony Ericson and Motorola always confused me. I am glad the I pod and the phone are now together. The I phone would have been ideal if it was priced within the 20k bracket. Whatever the flaws and the pricing is the I phone is the most sort after device ever. There has never been so much of anticipation for any device in history, I dint say that the Forbes magazine says so. So my wait is still on, to get a piece where I can download softwares.
