I have been using Airtel DTH for 3 years now. I use their online services for recharge, changing package etc.
I have observed their clever techniques to fool and cheat customers who use online recharge. If we use monthly recharge there is no problem.
If we accept some offers by Airtel, they change our package, subscription conditions without our approval.
I was recharging on a monthly basis. I thought that if I charged for 6months at a time, it would be convenient for me. After I recharged for 6 months I found out that my balance was only Rs.5 and they had removed many chhota packs. Only the base package remains now.
If I have to add the channels I had earlier, I would have to again top up my balance and buy all add-on packs.
Another cunning trick by Airtel is that the website doesnt allow us to remove chhota packs at all. Even after repeated attempts the website will say that the transaction is denied due to technical difficulties.
But if we wish to do other transactions like adding chhota pack, long duration package or change package, the website is very fast in completing the transaction. I desperately need to change the DTH provider but after reading reviews on mouthshut, I found out that all DTH services are equal to or worse than Airtel.
I think that we Indians and our companies/organizations/institutions can teach the world on how best to use our brains to cheat others and earn profit. Airtel is the world leader in this.
