We used UPS courier to ship book orders to US, UK and other countries, until last year. Their services were just wonderful.
We had an account with UPS and hence had very reasonable shipping rates for USA and UK. Even our customers in US were amazed at the speed with which packets from India reached them, sometimes in just two days. On the other hand, the orders that they booked within USA, on the same day as ours, reached them much later.
The customers in US gave us the feedback saying, it was amazing how their orders coming all over from India, that according to them was almost on another planet, reached them so soon.:)
When UPS do not find consignee at home, they leave the packet at the doorstep. And hardly ever we received complaints of non-receipt of packets by the consignees. It was amazing.
Because of our account with UPS, we were even assigned one UPS Associate, only to look after our shipments. UPS even provided its own system and printer at our office. We used UPS software and its printer, to print address labels of our customers.
Sometimes, the packet did get lost in transit or consignee said he never received it. Then UPS used to have a very good follow up system. One of their employee personally visited such consignees to find the packet. Even if after follow up, packet was not found, then UPS used to issue claim. Though that required a lot of paper work and time.
Also, their website with Tracking System for every packet shipped was incredible. From the point of pick up, till the time of delivery, they updated tracking information, a number of times on their website.
Recently I had to stop using their services, reason being a huge rise in their shipping rates. Their services became so expensive that it would eat away all our profits. Therefore, we had to resort to other international couriers. Though I still find UPS services fantastic.
Hence, I still recommend UPS, to ship packets abroad, if the shipping rates suit somebody.
