He was a great person. A person who could feel pain of others. very sensitive and he called a spade a spade.

Just last week saw two movies of yesteryears. One was Barsaat ki raat and the other was Ghazal. The characterization of the hero(in both the movies is based on Sahir Ji. The main character in these two movies eats poetry, drinks poetry and lives poetry. All his expressions are via poetry connection.

The picturization of Na to Karwaan ki talaash hai was really good. The way the ghazal gets build up from the initial idea of Na to karwaan ki talaash hai to Yeh Ishq Ishq hai. and all the actors were real time qawwali singers. So the passion they had over the poetry really showed.

And the song " Mere mehboob kahin aur mila kar mujhse" from ghazal was written best, sung best and piturised best. Sunil Dutt saab did very well in the song.

So Sahir Ji, you are simply great. I am sure that up and above, in heaven, you must be having a nice time now after facing all kinds of ups and downs in life. Just remember that we miss you, the world of poetry misses you.
