Once I came to know about this site about a couple of months ago I could not resist my desire to pen down reviews of few products which are, well, new and happening. But down in my heart I was in a dilemma whether to write a review on a product which is quite old and the company ceased to manufacture it long back. Finally I decided I should as it is my best friend for last 5 years. It is my first vehicle, my first bike, a TVS Victor GLX 125. It was from the first lot and without any alloy wheel, disc break etc. It is a very basic bike with 124.8 cc engine with a decent 10 bhp power.
In today’s standard, these features are very preliminary, but five years ago all the bikes around you were not of 150, 180, 200, 220, 250 CC. I am not going to elaborate why I choose this bike of 125 CC segment, but till today I am glad that I went for this bike as now hardly I find any 5 years old Discover, old 125 Frazer in the road when one can see quite a few GLX 125 till today.
The bike has been really very reliable and never had I faced any problem with it like refusing to start midway or any kind of breakdown. I completed 40K+ kms in this bike and always it was a true companion for me. Well if you are a racer, it may disappoint you, but a person like me, who is a normal commuter, to and fro from office, it is a superb bike with very good mileage of 50-55 kms.
Till now I am getting this numbers. Well, in the maintenance part, after completing the free services from the company’s workshop, I use to take the bike to a local mechanic in every 3 months and spend around 400 bucks including oil change, filter change and all. The performance of the bike has not gone down till today.
For a long time friends are insisting me to buy a new trendy bike but I could not replace my good old friend. Instead I bought a car and still I use it whenever my mood permits. A great bike, I must say.
