It is very useful app now a day for smartphone users. This app has been developed by Software Scandinavia AB. This software has an integrated caller ID. This app helps to show the name of the caller and that is why its name is Ture caller as it seems to identify the true identity of the caller.
Software Scandinavia AB has released compatible versions for most of the available operating system of mobile phones. Like Android, Black-Berry, Symbian, Windows, iOS etc.
This software was released on mid of 2009 and at the initial stage, it was only for Black-Berry. Due to its success on Black-Berry company released another version of Truecaller for Windows phone and then at last by the end of 2009 Android version was also released.
It is very common software or app used by the mobile phone users. And it helps us to identify the unwanted callers. If someone calls who's name is not saved in my mobile phonebook if Truecaller has data then I would be able to see the name of that caller. And now this app is so popular and it's database has so increased so that very few time we see that Truecaller is not able to identify the calling person. This is a very rare case now. But still this software has gone through few controversies and the worst one was in 2013 Syrian Electronic Army claimed that they hacked Truecaller's server and they have 459 GiBs of Truecaller data with them. Truecaller acknowledges that their server was hacked but they also confirmed that no data has been taken away.
Moreover, as I say it is a good and useful software and now a day it has become one of the most-wanted app among the mobile phone users.
