I have been an avid reader of Tinkle from past 15 years. They were one of my first books through which I learnt to read and get that strong imaginative skills, but as the years went by and after the demise of Uncle Pai I find that the magazine has lost it's quality. I just read both the issues March 2107 and I am appalled as to what are they feeding today's children with! First there are too many ADs, kids are very naive and get lured by everything and demand the product but as a brand of 50 years they need to know not all their audience can afford the expensive things they promote, from cars, pens to what not. I am not discouraging ADs, they also are important from a publication point of view but totally unnecessary to bombard kids with it, next is the really stereotypical and really stupid comics which make no sense. They have no meaning, no comic element and most of them aim at their characters being over achievers or all study bugs. There is a huge life beyond what we kids do in school and they should acknowledge it and make sure there are inspirational stories rather than boring ones. I for once used to love Suppandi and Shambu, even the recent Superweirdos and Butterfingers. But these only get published once in a while and the old characters are just dragged on as they are the mascot of the brand.

It is not all bad though I still appreciate that they have started including amazing columns like film section, DIY, and pick your brains has dramatically improved and are mind improving. I even love how Rajani interacts with everyone so well and it gives a good kickstart to the whole book.

All in all, I would recommend people to not invest in this particular subscription rather buy second hand books of good authors and your child's imaginations can run wild and they will be occupied for longer hours.

Thank you for letting me give my honest opinion.
