I have been using Tata Indicom Broadband(HSR Layout, Bangalore) since October 2007 and until today, I have had 15 service breakdowns - which is close to once every 2 weeks. What makes TATA such a lousy ISP is the period of each downtime, which extends to days. Presently, I am forced to write this review because for the 4th day running, my service has not been restored.
Do not expect anything from TATA customer service, since they are trained only to tell you that they are sorry and that they will inform the service technicians "once again". This can be said for most customer service personnel in India, they are totally powerless to do any real good to consumers - most of them do a postman's job - take down complaints and give you a complaint number. When you ask for refund for the breakdown period, they tell you that it is automatically taken care of through their system.
My work involves need for uninterrupted Internet at home and TATA certainly doesn't qualify. I will rate TATA Communications' quality in the same league as that of TATA Motors', which is the very bottom of the list!*
