They are a SHAME on TATA Brand Name.
One of the worst service ever received in India. I had made a purchase of over 7000 INR on 5th September 2015 because on inquiring I was informed that home delivery will happen on Sunday(I needed the stuff to be delivered as there were 4 big bags and I was on bike). However when I completed the purchase, I was informed by the guy at exit desk that it will take one extra day to deliver and the same will be done by Monday evening. We were disappointed but had no choice as we had already spent the money believing that Star Bazaar will honor what they commit(atleast til then).
To our surprise the delivery was not made on Monday evening as well. On calling their helpdesk we were told that the delivery will happen by 9PM but that didnt happen as well. We called them again and this time we were given the number of the delivery team which told us that it will not be delivered on Monday but Tuesday.
This was highly annoying and we were not expecting this level of inefficiency from a TATA Brand. I had almost decided not to shop from Star anymore but what happened next enforced my view on wife as well.
On calling back the helpdesk to lodge our complaint we were told that the manager will come and address the issue, therefore we were on hold for 10 minutes. After that suddenly the phone was disconnected. We tried to call back for 20 min continuously and no one answered the phone. Then we decided to try from another mobile and not surprisingly it was answered this time. We explained the situation to the manager(that is what we were told) and he took our information regarding the purchase and informed us that he will call us back in 5 minutes after checking the latest on the situation. It has been 45 minutes ever since(47 to be precise) and I have not heard back from him.
There is a certain level of professionalism expected when we shop from retail outlets, otherwise there are local shops as well in our neighborhood from where we can buy the household stuff and we dont need to come all the way to such outlet for shopping.
I am sure people like Jamshetji and JRD Tata would have taken a note of this feedback and would have acted upon, but now I dont think the current management is anywhere closer to these great people.
I sincerely urge people to take a note of it and stop shopping from STAR BAZAAR, especially for big amounts.
