After a furious downpour of extreme proportions, Rains had finally settled down, and we were able to reach the nearby theater for our usual, Second Day Third Show of "Shrek Forever After - The Final Chapter, 3D".

Yes, the Fourth installment of the immensely popular Shrek Series. Donkey, Cat, Fiona, Shrek and a whole town full of FarFarAway'tians!

Plot -

Shrek, Fiona, little Ogre babies, Donkey, little Dragon babies are all nicely settled down in the "Swamp" and are living a "happily ever after" with the Far Far Away Crew. But, the repetitive routine life, had made shrek a little anxious and frustrated. When the new villain "rumpel stiltskin", who had been planning all his life to take over Far Far Away, finally gets the chance, he lures Shrek into sighning a magical pact where he loses the "Happily Ever After" that he was enjoying. Will shrek be able to bring the reign of Rump'ie to an end? Will Far Far Away be full of love and life again? Shrek Forever After has the answers!

Animation -

As usual brilliant, the character of rum pel stilt skin, although very new and refreshing, had that usual charming touch, hideous yet very entertaining. Watch out for the Wigs collection that he uses for his emotions!

The voices of Mike Myers(as Shrek), Cameron Diaz(as Fiona), Antonio Banderas (as Puss) And the best of the Lot Eddie Murphy (as Donkey) and the usual Shrek Franchisee Charm to it all. Donkey, Ahh.. Man, I can't get enough of this character.

3D -

A little dissapointed with the 3D. May be after watching How to train your Dragon, and enjoying its flawless 3D effects, it was a little lesser in magnitude. But, still a very enjoyable 3D experience.

Watch out for -

  • The firt encounter between Shrek and Donkey after Shrek signing the pact.

  • Fiona And Shrek's Practise sessions.

  • Shrek and Puss's meeting.

  • Scenes with Pinocchio.

  • Rum Pel Stilt Skin, and his Wig scenes!

  • The enjoyable flying broom scenes, with the 3D effects.

A little lesser comic, this one still amused me, and didn't allow me to yawn or otherwise want to miss out a couple of scenes under the snores of the person next to me. The usual charm of the fantasy-clad story line, perfectly blended into an animation, covers up for the lost comic brilliance.

Comparison -

As with any other Franchisee, this one being a fourth edition, isnt as good as the others, nor could this be named as the best animation movie this year, but this is a really fun watch!

Final Words -

A great plot, some good comic - punches, and a lot of situational comedy. If you do plan to take out your kids or the kid in you to watch this one, it would very well be worth the trouble.

Recommended.
