Hi guys, writing a review after a long time. This one is about one of my many phone. Samsung B2100 A.K.A Samsung Marine. When it comes to phones, I prefer going for the latest phones. Have used Nokia 3230, Motorokr, iPhones & all the phones were the latest ones when I bought these.
However, I decided to buy this one after I saw its Ad on TV. Though the looks are not good, it's rough & tough handling made me buy it. My previous cell phones were damages coz of being dropped or water logged. This phone assures that, No matter what, it won't say 'Die'
I got it in Oct 2009 for Rs.4500 for my second SIM & still use it sometimes as a spare cell. As I said before the looks are not that great, but the features are good. To start with, it is shock-proof, water-proof, dust proof - in short Planet-proof. These features I have tried & tested myself. Have dropped my cell many times but without any damage. Used it in rain, still works fine. So if one wants a rough & tough cell, this is the best choice.
Here are some of the features of this cell:
1.Camera - 1.3 MP camera with video recording. The snaps & videos taken from this cell are ok types. Not too good, not very dull. With good lights, the photo quality is pretty decent.
2.Memory Capacity - Internal memory is a mere 7 MB but it supports up to 8 GB memory card which is too good for a normal phone like this one.
3.Data - It has a blue-tooth for data transfer. It also have GRPS functionality which works quite well. Have accessed FB & even MS from it & it opens quite well (though slow). It also has mailing functionality & you can send & receive mails from it. I was surprised to see the mail thing coz didn't expect it from such a normal phone.
4.Multimedia - It gives a good sound output in headphones as well as speakers. The sound quality from speakers is also very decent & doesn't gets distorted like other phones. It gives a clear sound. Though the screen is small, one can watch videos also on full screen. It also has a Radio.
5.Battery Back-up - A full charged battery lasts more than a day with normal usage. I used it to play songs, call-time around 45-60 mins & the battery would last around a day.
6.Mobile Tracker - The Mobile tracker feature introduced by Samsung is present in this cell too. Just set mobiles numbers & password settings & get tension free. If someone steals your cell & inserts his/her Sim in to it, the numbers you have set for mobile tracking will receive a SMS from their number. It works well & can be helpful in tracking lost/stolen phones.
Drawback:
1.The SMS capacity of the phone is very less. It can store just 300 messages in inbox, which is very less.
2.Phone is a little bulky & Screen is very small.
Besides these features, it also has a torch light which is quite powerful. Also has the normal features that all phones have.
Well it's not one of those phone which is a must buy, but if you want to be carefree about handling your phone, then this one is just the phone for you.It's a paisa-vasool phone & will serve you for a long time.
