Its been a while since I wrote a review, but the disastrous experience as mentioned in the review title compelled me to write this down to help save some of you from these technologically challenged and unfriendly people.
As with many tech savvy citizens, I too thought of trying it out as it seems to be getting a lot of hype.
I too thought I will save some time by paying my electricity bill online.
I too was cheated as I am sure many others were. No wonder these guys are getting way more "No"s as recommendations.
I created an account. Paid, oops sorry tried to pay my electricity bill The first time, it got failed. I thought may be some technical glitch, and so I tried again, but this time it failed and my account was debited as well.
I tried to ring the number mentioned on the website, but to my dismay it seems there is no real person available to talk to. Just a bunch of useless computer operated voice commands and static as we call it in technological terms.
There seems to be only one way, send a query via the website. Mind you, there is no record of whether we have sent or not, The queries I sent aren't visible on the site.
After a couple of days, I found that they sent two three mails. Stating that I need to contact the bank.
After contacting the bank, and as they said the amount has been credited to paytm, I tried to login to my account. I mistakenly enter my phone number instead of email, they sent an otp to it. And mind you, they allow both phone number and email address as username. Now, when I try my email, it doesnt allow me as I had used the phone number, which they surprisingly linked to both the accounts which they created.
Now, I have no way to communicate, I dont know which account was used for the transactions.
So, all in all disastrous, as I mentioned in the title, experience for me. Its better to go a couple of miles to the electricity office than to tangle yourself in these unfriendly websites.
