We preferred Ola Cabs service, since its introduction in Bangalore, to go around whenever to travel short distances in and round Bangalore. The service was excellant and perfect. At present they established well. But, on last two occasions we found certain draw backs in their services. Once when we hired a cab for a drop in Railway Station, fine the vehicle reported on time, we had few baggages, which driver could have been guided us to keep in rear portion of the vehicle.
But he has not even bothered to get up from his seat and just observing us struggling to accommodate the baggages in between the seats. When we asked whether can't we keep in rear portion, he got up. that area was filled with his waste things and dirty, still we managed to keep two bags. He was driving bit rashly neglecting the traffic rules. It was evening, asked him friendly, why you looked so tired? He replied, yes, I have been struggling in negotiating this Bangalore traffic since morning, it is very hot condition, so on. How we customers could help the drivers in this aspect. But felt that M/s.Ola Cabs initiate steps to educate their staff atleast to keep up the basic manners when they approach the customers.
On another instance, the driver was a local person, still he was totally depending upon the GPRS to just move the vehicle forward. He called us somewhere in a parallel road, which is a totally empty area, where there is no buildings, but can be noticed only the compound walls. We had given a temple as landmark. He parked behind the temple and informed us he has already reported and waiting for us. We searched for him for a while, but couldn't find him near vicinity. Called back and asked him, surprised to hear that he was waiting behind our appartment, where there is no entrance to reach him. Really a funny situation. Instructed him to come around to reach front side of our building. We were late, and added to that he was following GPRS without using his mind or brain. It looked like that he had activated the meter at that point itself. We should have observed it; but somehow in a hurry slipped out from our notice. He has taken a long route via main road and after Hebbal stopped on main road telling us that the GPRS is showing that particulaf spot as the destination, Hotel Egleton, see this is the location. again felt really funny, stopping the vehicle on a main road and telling us this is the destination. What to do? Found few people were standing beside the road. Approached them and shown them the address. They told us that we have already crossed the spot, there was a deviation to left, now better to drive further down and take left turn to reach the destination. Felt that the driver very well knows the locality. He was fooling us. From that spot onwards he, the driver, without any trouble drove the vehicle till the hotel. This has caused us almost additional payment of Rs.80/- and loss of our precious time, because while returning by another Ola Cab, the driver told us there is a straight route and we could reach faster. Yes, he was right, within no time we returned to our home and the charges was just Rs.139/-, compare to the onward trip which costed us Rs.219/-.
M/s.Ola Cab has to look into these aspects, the attitude, approach and behavioural pattern of their staff, to maintain good relation with their customers and to build-up their confidence.
