Manjhi the mountain man is based on the true story of dashrath manjhi.
He used to live in gaya district in bihar. His village was located far away from the main city and there was no facility such as roadways. People used to cross the huge mountain in order to have an access to the city.
The difficulties faced by villagers due to lack of roadways facility increases even more incase of medical emergencies and many people lost their lives because of the same. Manjhi also lost his wife and he decided to break off the huge mountain individually. People used to call him crazy but he was fully dedicated to his work and it took him 22 years to accomplish his task. Performance of nawazuddin siddique and radhika apte is excellent.
